Thunder Of Hooves return to RCTC

After a break of nearly two long months, during which time racing came to a standstill at this centre, the thunder of hooves return on New Year's Day -much to the delight of the local racing fraternity, and indeed elsewhere. As far as thoroughbred and thoroughbred-racing lovers are concerned, 'Pyrexia of an Unknown Origin' is now a thing of the past. The New Year brings with it hope and happiness. So a very 'Happy New Year' folks! I sincerely hope that the afternoon's selections can make it a little happier for you.

Traditionally, the First of January races has been more of a social gathering than serious racing. The who's who of the metropolis make a beeline for the racecourse. Racing has been known to take a backseat on this afternoon. This year however, it may be a different story altogether, the reason being, the forced hiatus has left all the eager beavers agog with expectation. Some of the horses may be a shade uder-prepared, considering that they were permitted on to the outer sand track only three weeks ago. Nevertheless, RCTC has gone out of their way to frame a well-filled card of eight races.Chairman Cyrus Madan las led from the front and set an excellent precedent of 'how to get back to business in the shortest possible time'. His quest has been aided by a reliable team of veterinarians.
