Legendary jockey, Lester Piggot, was admitted to intensive care after a recurrence of a heart problem in SwitzerlaLnd. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
One of the greatest riders of all time, Lester was suffering problems with his health a few months ago and was first admitted to hospital after feeling unwell on Christmas Eve on his return from a trip to Hong Kong. He was released five days later.
Piggott was due to attend a special race day in his honour at Newmarket on Saturday. The race day, set up to commemorate his 7 guineas victories (five 2000 Guineas and two 1000 Guineas) will in all probability be rescheduled to some other date.
