Heavy rains mar opening day at Pune
By Correspondent | 26 Jul 2007 |

The opening day of the 2007 Pune season was hampered by rain and eventually led to the cancellation of the final four races of the ten race card.
Heavy rain pounded the race course after the completion of the first race and delayed the start of the second event. With the track taking a pounding and the underfoot conditions turning increasingly treacherous the authorities took the decision to stop further racing for the day after the sixth race had been run. The feature event, the Akkasaheb Maharaj Trophy, the seventh event of today's card, is likely to be rescheduled.
