Trainer L.V.R.Deshmukh’s stable got richer by another ‘Million’ with their ward Plenipotent (Iffraaj-Beldon Hill) lifting the Kr.Rajendra Singh Memorial Golconda Juvenile Million (Grade III). The Chestnut colt trounced his three rivals with minimum effort and earned a rare distinction of having won three ‘Million’ races in a row. Jockey P.S.Chouhan logged in his 50th win of the Winter Season at this centre.

The manner in which Plenipotent has won all his three starts is a clear pointer to a bright career that lies ahead. Shatakshi led early followed closely by Plenipotent while Perfect and Ashok Chakra were a further four lengths behind. On the home stretch P.S.Chouhan looked confident and never showed any urgency to making his move. Plenipotent surged ahead near the distance post effortlessly and almost cantered home. Ashok Chakra improved from the last position to finish second.

K.S.V.Prasad Raju saddled two winners through Melody Queen and Dancing Touch. Imran Khan brought Melody Queen (Hymn-Jukebox) brought with gigantic strides after travelling in about sixth position, as the field rounded the final bend and covered plenty of ground to emerge clear, in the Rock of Gibraltar Cup. Golden Palace also made a bid from the rear but had to settle for the second place.  Blazing Asian and Mystical Knight filled the frame, while the favourite finished a tame fifth.

Prasad’s Dancing Touch (Duja-Table Dancing) made a strong move approaching the final furlong to go past the stable mate Days Of Thunder and held on by a whisker from the fast finishing Young Soldier. Days Of Thunder was incidentally the first favourite in the race. Rio Grande got past the tiring Days Of Thunder to take the third spot.

Trainer L.D’Silva and apprentice A.K.Pawar teamed up to pull off two wins through Ann Arbor and Petradura. Ann Arbor (Inhabitant-Masilika) got up to the tiring Kohinoor Fighter and sped past inside the last 100 metres, to lift the higher division of the Thungabhadra Cup. Kohinoor Fighter finished second for the third successive time.

Petradura (Inhabiyan-Pettalumma) rushed through horses with a sustained run, to win the Dinky Do Plate. Kansas City Mac and Combined Force also made their bid strongly inside the last 200 metres but Petradura travelled the best. Kansas City Mac and Combined Force finished second and third respectively.

Ananth Vatsalya trained Kohinoor Forever (Major Impact-Flame) scored a maiden victory in the lower division of the Thungabhadra Cup. The favourite Confidential tried to make it a start to finish affair but surrendered the lead to Kohinoor Forever near the distance post.

Faiyaz Shaikh’s Attenborough (Sharp Attack-Belle Dansuese) made a pillar to post victory in the King’s Crown Plate, a terms race for 3 year olds. Jockey M.A.Gallagher took Attenborough to the front at start and led all the way to score a maiden victory. Our Mascot, Kohinoor Vikrant and Kohinoor Revanta filled the frame.

Shehzad Abbas’s Crown Crystal (Tejano-Crown Secret) moved close to the leader Russian Rhytham, as they traversed the final run and surged ahead 300 m from home, to win the higher division of the Illustrious Reign Plate. Chesapeake rallied on to finish second ahead of Oru Oru Oru.

Anupam Sharma trained Qinghuangdao (Epicentre-Moonbeam) justified the favouritism in the lower division. Qinghuangdao picked up momentum, travelling widest of all, on top of the straight and Bloody Mary was getting stronger towards the inner rails. Wedding Gift joined the fight with Euphonic also making a bid. Qinghuangdao held on by a ‘neck’ at the wire from Wedding Gift. Euphonic got the better of Bloody Mary to take the third spot.
