20 days after blazing the track in the upper division of the Chief Secretary Cup, jockey Chhottu Singh Jodha was up to his same riding-tactics to help Master Champion to steal the show on Monday. The Ishwar Singh Parmar-trained Master Champion bagged the Delhi Race Club Managing Committee Juvenile Sprinters Cup.

In a fast running pace, Jodha allowed Master Champion to run freely behind the pacesetter Miss Marine till the top of the homestretch. The colt of Mull of Kintyre and Knowle Park stepped forward to assume control. But on the course of victory, he drifted out to cross the wire through the stands. The colt became the first juvenile of the season to take less than 1m and 12 seconds to complete the six furlongs trip (1m 11.98 seconds). He would be in action in most of the gala races of the next racing calendar. 

Nevertheless, Slip Away did not much dishearten the connections. Travelling almost in boxy seat, whenever Pawan tried to make a forward search, the front running Miss Marine was observed to be changing the lane until the 350m marker. However, when he was forced out to maneuver his way, he started running zig-zag and hanging-in badly before occupying the runner-up berth ahead of the late finishing four By Four. 

Magan Singh-trained Ganga Jal (Dhanu Singh Deora) won the curtain raiser event, the Amazing Fighter Plate, of the day. Coming from the fifth position, the aged mare caught Firecracker napping in the strides. Episode finished impressive third ahead of El Salvador.

H A Khan's Bay of Thunder (Sandeep Rajput), who had gone down narrowly in his last essay, was a runaway leader till the final furlong of the Posen Plate (1,400m). Though he started showing distress signal after drifting out alarmingly, yet managed to hold Addiction off for his maiden success after a gap of year. 

Rajinder's trainee registered an emphatic victory in the Adler Star Plate which was earmarked for the class three horses. Running close to the pace but in rear till the final 200m of the seven furlongs, jockey K Narender rode the gelding of Ontario and Argyle Gold with patience and brilliance. He waited for the field to scatter and cashing-in on such an opportunity, the gelding simply made his way to dominate the last 100m. 

Ajay Sharma's Dazzle completed an encore by emerging victorious in the Silver Fortress Plate. Apprentice Mohammed Asif guided the mare for the second time. Master Arts, who came from the sixth position, warmed up late and failed short narrowly. The filly should make amends.

K P Singh-saddled Tactic ended its winning drought in the Jodhpur Plate. Interestingly, it took many years for the eight-years-old gelding to earn a bracket. Fiorella and Go with the Flow, who finished second and third respectively, should soon return to the winning block.
