Race 1: #5 Vayomi

Race 5: #5 Mountain Of Joy

Race 8: #9 Monreale

Here is the analysis:

First race: Vayomi (1-5)

Vayomi is one horse we have picked up for My Stable purely on the strength of track trials. Especially, after his track with Caprioska on May 15, which emboldened us to mark him for a good effort on his first show this season.  The fact that he has been tracked as recently as two days ago (June 1), is another positive.

True, there is always an element of danger when you decide to support a horse solely on the strength of the track work. But his price (night odds 4/1) should compensate for the risk. Also, all his IN-THE-MONEY performances have come over today’s trip (1400m), so distance suitability should not really be a problem. Surely a chance bet worth following.

Fifth race: Mountain Of Joy (5-5)

On My Stable we have marked this horse for a mile after his last winning effort, but generally we reconsider if the horse changes yard after getting onto the My Stable list. However, we have decided to let it stay as the new trainer is also a competent professional. Maybe he is taking his time with this horse as is indicated by the continuance of steel shoes and the services of a apprentice.

Action: PASS

Eighth race: Monreale (8-9)

Monreale earned her place on My Stable thanks to her last run when she leisurely finished quite impressively over the scurry, doing a FINOO pattern at that, giving the impression that a longer trip will be better for her. A disclaimer would be in order. I don’t understand pedigree nor do I think it is important after a horse has run a few races and made clear what distance it is comfortable with. So our presumption here that Monreale can tackle the mile is based on solely her last run striding movement.

With a couple of good tracks (the most recent 4 days ago) and Sandesh to guide her, she has a good chance to win at this mark.
