At a joint meeting held between the committee's of the Karnataka Trainers Association (KTA) and the Karnataka Race Owners Association (KROA), it was decided to maintain a status quo and not to resume entering horses for the races scheduled in the coming week. B Puttanna, the KTA chief, spoke to the press and stated that the Managing Committee of the BTC had not addressed their problems, and as such it was not possible for the KTA to backtrack on their demands. The owner's association has expressed solidarity with the trainer's and is backing them on these issues. It is another matter that week after week, the owners are losing precious stake money. In the meantime, the authorities at the Club are going ahead with their announced Managing Committee meeting on the 31st of January and are expected to assess the situation created by the KTA. All follow up actions, and the future of racing in the ongoing season, shall be announced thereafter. Puttanna also stated that their association has asked the Mysore chapter to fall in line, and withdraw the horses entered for Thursday's racing. The Mysore Race Club had anticipated such a scenario and therefore postponed the scratchings by a day to Tuesday, the 29th of January. It will be interesting to watch the events as they unfold at Mysore in the next couple of days. The President of the KTA further stated that even if the Club goes ahead and forms a committee to look into the various issues, their association would resume the racing activities at the Bangalore Turf Club.
