Maximise upset the apple cart of Ruby Queen when he won the A.P.Race Horse Owners Association Trophy, run over a mile and a half. Ruby Queen after her stupendous performances in her previous two runs was sent in as the piping hot favourite at 10 to 3 on. Going into the race Daniel Grant had positioned the top weighted Maximise in third and maintained that till the field approached the final bend. Ruby Queen in the meanwhile had settled well, off the pace, in the rear. Maximise made his bid on the straight and took over the running from Gentlemans Deal. Ruby Queen was quickly alighted to the task with Suraj using his whip freely. The 'Queen' failed to respond and started sending distress signals. It was only when Suraj stopped the stick and used his arms, did the filly show some signs of recovery but it was too late as Maximise and Grant were safe home.

The silks of Maximise reaped rich dividends, winning the very next race on Maximum City. This time it was Suraj Narredu doing the honours, giving the winner a peach of a ride. He used every nerve in his arms to put Maximum City in front of Armstrong, Cabochon and Stormy Gladiator in a four way finish, with just a length covering the four.

This race was the lower division of the Jockey B.Madhu Kumar Memorial Cup. The well supported Renukas Pride on whom the right money started flowing towards race time won the higher division. Renukas Pride was settled in mid field till the final bend, made a quick move on the wide outside and passed Golden Flame in the last 150 metres to win well. The filly was Faisal Hassan's 'Pride', ably ridden by Nitin Singh.

The Catrail Plate, a race for three year old maidens, were divided and gone through as the first two races of the day. The opener being the lower division was won by Col.S.B.Nair owned Paymaster almost from the word 'Go'. The higher division generated some interest passing the distance marker with five horses, Reality Show, Smrithiman, Ruffiano, Mr.Don and Kansas City Mac bunching up. Ruffiano travelled the best and won the race from Kansas City Mac who was finishing on.

Zycon upset all calculations to win the Perceived Value Plate, leading all the way. Scubarioo got closer towards the finish but was three parts of a length short.

Jockey Ch.K.Charry gave a neat ride on Mizzna to quicken well and claim the lower division of the Storm Trooper Plate. Lady Patricia finished second and Hyper Kinetic a tame third. The higher division witnessed a pulsating finish with three horses, Girl of Love, Time On and Dream Counsel passing the winning post locked together. Girl of Love who managed to put her head in front at the all important end took the race from Time On and Dream Counsel. Toofan Express had bolted leaving the jockey at the gates before the race and completed the course. He was apprehended and reloaded only to repeat tantrums, hurting the rider this time. He was subsequently withdrawn.

Royal Light made it start to finish in the concluding race. The buckle of the right stirrup of jockey Ruzaan on Pretty Fit gave way and after balancing for some time he got dislodged approaching the 600 metres. He was unhurt in the incident. Stylish Lady was permitted to be withdrawn which reduced the field to eight.
