LUCKY KRISTALE SHINES IN THE LOWTHER STAKES

Lucky Kristale won the G2 Connolly’s Red Mills Lowther Stakes, a six furlongs dash for 2 year old fillies, at York. Trained by George Margarson, the filly was ridden by Tom Queally. Lucky Kristale shared the favouritism with J Wonder in the race. Held back towards the rear by Tom Queally, always racing on the stands’ side, the daughter of Lucky Story showed a superb turn of foot to head past her rivals approaching the final furlong and spare a length and a half over the runner-up Queen Catrine at the wire. Wind finished third, a ‘head’ away.
"Fillies with a penalty don't have a great record in this race so it speaks volumes," said the winning jockey Tom Queally. "She's worked very well during the week and she's going places in a hurry."
"She will go straight to the Cheveley Park now and we will worry about next year after”, said trainer George Margarson ”She has got so much toe we might as well use it in the Cheveley Park.”
