Global Presence lifted the S.N.Reddy Memorial Cup, the feature of Sunday’s small card of six races. Leo D’Silva ruled the roost with a brilliant performance of winning four races out of six. Retained saddle artist, Harish, was on three of them, thus getting a point behind Rupesh in the jockey’s tally which is now poised to get to the wire. With a lot of contenders rushing to the front after the field of ten was dispatched, Global Presence managed to lead with Dancing Touch in close attendance. Rounding the final bend, Dancing Touch faded out even as Harish started to break away from the field. Global Presence was travelling so well passing the distance post that Harish could afford to ease him up close to the finish. Chief De Mission moved into the second spot with a sustained run while One in All maneuvered his way along the rails to improve into the third position.

The wins of Chesapeake and Grand Rapids vindicated the stewards decision to withdraw the apprentice permit granted to apprentice B.Mukesh from 30th September 09 upto 31st March 2010 for improper handling of his mounts in their previous runs. Chesapeake was settled in third position till passing 600 metres marker and then shot to the front to win comfortably from Ruby Crown, who was in futile chase throughout the straight.

A.F.Ali Khan had to work hard on Grand Rapids, to pass the relentless Kohinoor Magic, in the higher division of the Jatprole Cup. Racing in third at 400 metres from home, Grand Rapids progressed steadily under some hard riding and once he came alongside Kohinoor King, quickened well to win. Zambo Anga was in third throughout the straight.

K.S.V.Prasad Raju’s Celtic shot who had shown a lot of promise in his previous outing, found no difficulty in trouncing his ten rivals, in the P.V.G.Raju Memorial Cup. Ninja Power who rushed in to take the running from the tiring Southern Spice tried to snatch the race but Celtic Shot travelled around the other runners and made his bid to quicken well and trounce the field.

El Paso was sighted a winner as the field showed up on the straight. Super Brand was getting closer to the winner towards the finish but found El Paso too good to beat. It would pay to keep an eye on Super Brand.

There was a sudden downpour before the last race of the day and the start was delayed by about ten minutes to let the sky clear up. Jet Express enjoyed the going and set out in front with no signs of giving up. Chestnut Charmer was all the way in chase and Rupesh used all the tricks under his belt to finally pass Jet Express but it didn’t turn out to be his day as Vivek, worked his way from third last position on Al Jeezan, to fly in the last fifty metres and score over Chestnut Charmer.
