Trainer M Sathyanarayana leading Royal Embassy (S Shoban Babu Up), winner of The G Sudhakar Reddy Memorial Cup

A lack luster card of six races was gone through on Monday at Hyderabad. M.Sathyanarayana schooled Royal Embassy upset the apple cart of the more favoured runners, in the G.Sudhakar Reddy Memorial Cup, the feature of the day’s races run over 1800 metres. Royal Embassy who had finished last in his previous run, over a similar trip, after his stirrup leather gave way, won the race, making every pillar a winning one. Fly by Wire came in late but could only get the better of Nano War for the second place.

Faiyaz Shaik’s Jet Express made Chestnut Charmer bite the dust in the Blue Ice Plate, the opening race of the day. Showing plenty of speed, right from the start, Jet Express quickened well when challenged by Chestnut Charmer 150 metres from home. Palace Affairs suffered a cut on her lower jaws after she banged herself at the gates and refused to raise a gallop in the race.

Superfluous won the higher division of the International Plate with a vigorous run in the last 100 metres downing the early leader Sixth Element. Allegation came with a flourish towards the finish but was short by half a length. Lucky Damsel too moved in and pushed Sixth Element to fourth spot.

Ivory Snow who had finished an eye catching third on the Derby day won with a measure of comfort in the lower division of the International Plate. Yippee warmed up late to finish second ahead of the early leader Classic Dancer.

Imaan showed the way to Anemometer till the final bend, in the Hovercraft Plate. As the field straightened up, Anemometer surged ahead and never looked back. Ocean of Pearls as is her wont warmed up late and finished second for the third time in a row. Baywatch was always there but never really rose to the occasion, ending up third. Miracle was withdrawn before the start.

The speedy Pretty Fit from the yard of Ananth Vatsalya, won the Nalagonda Plate, with a start to finish effort over the five furlong trip. Sahebzadi managed to peg Booster for the second place.
