CHRISELLIAM DOMINATES THE SHOW IN THE JUVENILE FILLIES TURF

Chriselliam (Richard Hughes Up), winner of The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (Gr.1)
Chriselliam scored an authoritative win in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf to give both trainer Charles Hills and jockey Richard Hughes their first Breeders’ Cup success.
Sent in at 7-1, the youngster saved ground and dwelt towards the rear early. Moving steadily to be in mid-field soon, the bay headed smoothly to be at a striking position behind the leaders 2 furlongs out and surged clear inside the final furlong. Testa Rossi finished second ahead of Colonel Joan.
“She is one of the best fillies I've ridden and she proved it today. This is one of the biggest wins of my career,” said jockey Richard Hughes.
"Owning a Breeders' Cup winner is much better than riding one," said an elated Willie Carson, the former champion jockey and part-owner of Chriselliam.
