Jockey Ryan Marshall got busy on Apparition and the daughter of Burden of Proof responded readily to surge past the leader inside the last furlong. Sherman Oaks came with a late charge but Apparition had touched the wire to win the Guineas by half a length. Palm Springs which led the field for most part of the race finished third.
