Kallu Mama (Aussie Rules-Khalimia) a promising youngster from the stables of L.V.R.Deshmukh scored an encore in the Ch.V.Lakshmi Prasad Rao Sirdesai Sircilla Memorial Cup, which featured the day’s card of seven races at Hyderabad on Sunday. Leaving out its unsuccessful trip to Pune for the Derby, it was a fourth straight win for Kallu Mama at Hyderabad. Silver Crown and Lumiere Blanche led the field with the favourite Kallu Mama in about fifth position  Inside the last 400 metres guided Kallu Mama to take the shortest way and with a resolute gallop swept past the two greys in front and stretch out to be over four lengths in front at the finish. Handsome Hawk finished second in front of Santa Monica. Lumiere Blanche was fourth.

Jockey P.S.Chouhan was the most effective professional scoring a treble. He piloted first timer Panachecorn to victory and then completed his treble on chance mount Vijays Grandeour.

Chouhan who replaced an indisposed A.M.Tograllu on Laxman Singh trained Vijays Grandeour (Ace-Pride), gave the 3 year old bay colt its maiden win in the Satavahana Cup. The favourite Skylight Express headed past the leader Garibaldi at the top of the final straight and was travelling well. Chouhan started to work his way on Vijays Grandeour and the youngster started to drift out alarmingly under pressure. Chouhan did not give up and kept goading his mount. Vijays Grandeour despite the bad drift stepped up speed on the extreme outside and flashed past Skylight Express to spare a length at the finish.

Debutant Panachecorn (China Visit-Da Vinchi Rose) from the yard of S.S.Faisal Hassan outclassed her eight rivals in the five furlongs race for maiden 2 year olds, the Birthday Girl Plate. Shooting off to the front at start, Panachecorn brought the field into view on the straight and stretched out effortlessly. Dear Friend finished second ahead of Golden Essence. Grenadier was fourth.

T.Nagesh trained Hard Kingdom (Diffident-Roman Eagle) whose last win was a little over a year ago won the higher division of the Flying Treasure Plate in a blanket with the first three places finishing within a quarter of a length and nine places covered in 2 ½ lengths. Key Note came in first on the straight followed closely by Speed Striker. Hard Kingdom started to get closer inside the last 150 metres and the favourite Al Sarraah was also getting stronger through horses. Just when it looked like Hard Kingdom and Al Sarraah would hit the wire almost together came Robust flying from behind to join them in the photo. The verdict went in favour of Hard Kingdom which had held on by a shorthead from Robust. Al Sarraah had finished third.

The lower division also turned out to be a ‘handicapper’s delight’ with R.H.Sequeira trained Commanche Gold pegging back Melody Queen. Melody Queen close to the inner fence and Mukhtar on the wide outside were fighting out as they came into the last 200 metres. Commanche Gold rallied strongly from behind almost towards the stand side and just got the nod at the wire. Drayton also came flying from the rear to finish third a ‘head’ behind Melody Queen. Mukhtar was fourth another short head away.

D.Netto trained Big Move (Epicentre-All Heart) was back to winning ways in the higher division of the Bobbili Plate. Big Move, ridden by Kuldeep Singh was sent in as the favourite among the eight runners for the 1800 metres trip. Vijays Splendour was in front as they came into the straight and had established a lead of over five lengths over the nearest rival. Kuldeep Singh kept riding out Big Move and the 3 year old responded well to bridge the big gap inside the last 150 metres and sped past Vijays Splendour in the shadow of the winning post.

S.A.Shehzad Abbas trained Lots of Love (Razeen-Adored) which started its career only this winter, wrapped up the lower division. Racing in about sixth position till the final bend, Lots of Love moved around the front runners and with Ashhad Asbar riding out, forged ahead and stayed well till the finish. Rio Rojo was in hot chase all the way up the straight to finish second. Roma Rouge and Time For Smile filled the frame in that order.
