D Netto trained Audacious (Epicentre-Ice Castle) was ridden out by jockey Kuldeep Singh to win the division I of the 1 EME Centre Rolling Trophy, the main event of the seven races card at Hyderabad on Sunday. The 5 year old filly raced in about sixth position till entering the straight and started to improve inside the last 400 metres. Robust also charged towards the front and the two matched strides for a short distance before Audacious forged ahead to spare a length and a quarter. Jabel Queen and Wedding Gift finished third and fourth respectively, with just a ‘head’ separating them.

 Apprise (Midtown-Lyricist) from the stables of R.H.Sequeira slammed the favourite Drayton to win the lower division in a dramatic finish. Apprise had surged forward to take the lead as they approached the last 250 metres. Drayton moved strongly along the inner fence and headed past Apprise with about 100 metres left from home. Jockey Kuldeep Singh on Drayton who looked to be confident of having completed his task took it a bit easy after going ahead. Apprentice A.K.Pawar continued to ride out Apprise and the 5 year old bounced back to beat Drayton in the shadow of the winning post. Jockey Kuldeep Singh is bound to be pulled up for the laxity.

Netto and Kuldeep Singh combined to get their double through Silver Cruise (Razeen-Silver Grey) in the Krishna Cup. Stylish Chieftan was in the lead followed closely by Racing Queen with Silver Cruise racing in about sixth position as the field approached the final straight. Inside the last 400 metres Racing Queen surged forward to take the lead and Silver Cruise rallied strongly around the front runners. Travelling the better of the two, Silver Cruise went past the winning post three parts of a length in front of Racing Queen. A peculiar style of riding was witnessed by jockey Carlos Henrique on Symbol of Beauty. Henrique lost his whip as he started to pull out his mount entering the straight. As he started to move up, the jockey realized that his mount required a few reminders to quicken and Henrique quickly pulled out the cap from his head gear and started using it as a make shift whip. Symbol of Beauty did quicken a bit to finish third.  Carlos Henrique will have a bit of explanation to give the authorities about this bizarre incident.

K.Satheesh schooled Arceus (Marju-Queveda) beat its five opponents to win the Loveable Princess Plate, a 1100 metres sprint for 2 year old maiden horses. The dark bay colt in its second start was sent in as the firm favourite in the race. Racing a handy third behind Symbol of Glory and Royal Glow till the bend Arceus moved ahead smoothly to take charge. The youngster looked good with a lead of over four lengths from Symbol of Beauty but that leeway diminished fast towards the closing stages with Webster gaining ground rapidly. Arceus managed to hold on and win by a quarter of a length.

Spanish Conquest from the stables of L.V.R.Deshmukh whose last win was a little over two years, stunned the followers of form with a runaway win in the Silky Baby Plate. Jockey Arvind Joshi who is seen more in the morning trials scored his first win of the season. Spanish Conquest surged ahead to take over the running from Max Baby as they haeded past the 1000 metres marker and extended the lead to eight lengths on the home stretch. Max Baby stayed in second while the favourite Energetic Lass put up a dismal show to finish fourth behind Maid For Love.

M.Sathyanarayana trained City of Dreams (Mull of Kintyre-Serious Trouble)  which had not finished on board in its six starts was installed as the overwhelming  favourite in the lower division of the Treasure Leaf Plate. Raciong in about fifth position entering the final straight, City of Dreams galloped readily to sneak between Promotion and Arriviste who were running in front and forged ahead. Amrapal put in a late effort to take the second spot ahead of True Haven.

S.S.Faisal Hassan trained Sharp Victor (Epicentre-Blue Grass) which had found one better in its previous three runs, finally came good to score its maiden win in its 29^th start. Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar settled Sharp Victor well in about fifth position till entering the straight. Inside the last 400 metres Asbar guided Sharp Victor through the horses in front and the 5 year old mare responded well to gallop through the gap and head to the front. The favourite Tamanna was in futile chase all the way up the straight.
