A card of eight races was framed for Friday’s races at Hyderabad. Small fields were the order of the day with just 56 horses taking the start in eight races. Trainer M.Srinivas Reddy and jockey Imran Chisty teamed up to score a double through Dare to Dream in the Bhagyanagar Juvenile Million and Sweety Girl in the concluding event.  Indiarace tipped seven winners for the day with Cornwallis being the only one to miss the winner’s enclosure.

Dare to Dream (Oath-Starynessy) lifted the Bhagyanagar Juvenile Million, the feature event of Friday’s races at Hyderabad. Five youngsters lined up for the seven furlongs trip for 3 year old horses. Three among them, Sensei, Cornwallis and Dare to Dream were the fancied ones with the first named having an edge in the betting. Dare to Dream ridden by Imran Chisty made a swift move to take over the running as they passed the 800 metres board. Inside the last 400 metres Dare to Dream continued to hold the advantage in front and Cornwallis began to come up with a good gallop from behind. Nearing the distance post Cornwallis lugged in under pressure and lost a couple of vital strides. Jockey Louis pulled his mount out and with some hard riding came with a renewed challenge but Dare to Dream held on well to spare three parts of a length at the wire. Jockey Beuzelin Louis raised an objection against Imran Chisty for interference in the final furlong and that was overruled by the stewards. Sensei finished third 3 ½ lengths away.

S.A.shehzad Abbas schooled Carlton (Diffident-Celestrella) completed a hat-trick in the Raja Sitharam of Domakonda Samasthan Memorial Cup, a seven furlongs trip for 3 year old horses. The bay colt with two wins from as many starts, the first over 1000 metres and the next over six furlongs was sent into the race as ‘money back’ favourite against the four opponents. Jockey Louis Beuzelin settled Carlton in third while Golden Terms and Star Player matched strides in front. As they rounded the final turn Carlton slipped in along the fence when the false rails ended and forged ahead with ease. Inside the last furlong Carlton began to quicken well even as Louis used just his hands and heels on the youngster and drew away from the rest. Star Player, Upon A star and Dolce filled the judge’s frame in that order.

Jockey Suraj Narredu had an arm chair ride on K.S.V.Prasad Raju’s Chief Executive (Sharp Attack-Executive Angel) in the Makalu Cup. The gelding tracked Crimson Look till entering the straight and when asked by Suraj to quicken, stretched out easily to draw away from the rest and score its maiden win. Crimson Look finished second nine lengths behind. Chocolate Soldier was withdrawn before the race.

Donald Netto trained Audacious (Epicentre-Ice Castle) just about managed to scrape through in the higher division of the Naloma Plate. Audacious ridden by Kuldeep Singh weaved through horses on top of the straight and shot to the lead. Any Given Time after being prominent as they came into the straight fell back after drifting out under pressure. Audacious had gone clear by nearly three lengths with about 150 metres left from home and Any Given Time came devouring ground on the extreme outside but fell short by the proverbial whisker at the wire. Qinghuangdao and Kohinoor Blitz finished third and fourth respectively.

Lips Locking (Sedgefield-Frequent Flyer0 from trainer Sk Kassam’s yard scored her maiden win in the Adler Plate. The 4 year old filly which had finished second to Ek Ek Ek just four days ago was the favourite at 6-4. Dazzling Princess set off to lead the field and Lips Locking tracked about a length and a half behind. Inside the last 350 metres Lips Locking began to close up and although the filly moved alongside Dazzling Princess, had to be pushed hard to forge ahead of the relentless leader in the final stages of the race. Proud Image was third all the way from the start.

Anupam Sharma trained 4 year old filly Roma Rouge (Don Micheletto-Rhapsody in Red) did well to score her maiden win in the Mossy Banks Plate. Ridden by apprentice Mukesh Kumar, Roma Rouge improved to take over the running before approaching the last 600 metres and came in to the home stretch with a lead of over two lengths. Killer Instinct was all out to collar Roma Rouge in the last 200 metres but failed to get there and ended up second, three parts of a length away. The favourite Jerrel made a vain bid along the rails to finish third.

Laxman Singh trained Black Bolt (Ivory Touch-Negress Doll) which had won a race after six seconds at a stretch, scored an encore in the Anmol Ratan Plate. The top weighted Black Bolt led the field with Twinklingofaneye in company till the final bend. On entering the final straight Black Bolt picked up pace and increased the lead. Staying The Best came up with a challenge towards the closing stages to finish second. Ancillary finished third, in front of Aware.

Trainer Srinivas Reddy and jockey Imran Chisty completed a double together with Sweety Girl (Ivory Touch-Highland Fling) in the lower division of the Naloma Plate, the concluding race of the day. Racing in about sixth position till approaching the final bend, Sweety Girl moved well from the outside to take over the running from The Himalayas which started to drift out of the straight course. Drayton along the fence and Yet Again from the outside moved strongly towards the closing stages but failed to collar Sweety Girl and finished second and third respectively with one length covering the first three places.  Garcia Marquez was withdrawn near the gates.
