Grey filly Secret Angel (Placerville-Diablo’s Secret) from Laxman Singh’s stables snatched a win from Mukhtar in the Grand Parade Cup, the feature event of Tuesday’s races at Hyderabad.  Mukhtar set out on a start to finish bid, being chased all through the straight by Secret Angel and Robust. With about 150 metres left from home Secret Angel under apprentice S S Tanwar inched closer to the relentless Mukhtar and stretched out in the dying moments to win by a slender margin. Robust finished third with Maharadhi taking the fourth spot.

S.S.Faisal Hassan’s Yours Truly (Case Law-Divine Honey) pulled off an upset win in the lower division of. The top weighted Price Warrior made a start to finish bid with Yours Truly and Win And Enjoy in close attendance. Inside the last 250 metres Price Warrior started to tire out and Yours Truly readily took charge and kept going with Gaarswood rallying in second. The favourite Over Shadow raised a gallop when the race was almost over to beat Price Warrior for the third place.

Field Smasher (Sedgefield-Meryl) from the stables of M.Srinivas Reddy who had remained winless in 18 starts after his debut victory came good to lift the Tenacity Cup. Goldie in the lead as the field came into the straight started to veer out of the straight course. Lips Locking and Field Smasher began to gain ground from around Goldie and the three were involved in a tussle in the last 150 metres. Field Smasher shot ahead, to win by a little over a length. The favourite Lips Locking got the better of Goldie for the second place.

Jockey P Ajeeth Kumar was the only professional to score a double. Ananth Vatsalya trained Golden Dash and L.D’Silva’s Romantic Fire was his winners. Golden Dash (Danehill Star-Alfa Romeo) scored an encore as ‘on money’ favourite in the Blue Wave Plate. Allianz Arena led till the last 300 metres and gave way to The Challenge. Golden Dash in about fourth position all the way picked up speed when given a crack by P Ajeeth Kumar and sped past to spare 2 ½ lengths to The Challenge at the wire. Khalis Gold was third another four lengths away.

Romantic Fire (Opportunist-Romance In Rain) shed her maiden ranks with a pillar to post victory in the lower division of the Deccan Plate, a five furlongs dash for 3 year old maiden horses, the concluding race of the day. Fastest out of the gates from draw one Romantic Fire headed to lead the field. Fruit Roll Up from an outward draw chased the leader all the way from the start and despite its best effort inside the last furlong failed to make it. Rocky Hill was a far-away third while the favourite Khoshgel finished a tame fourth. Typhoon was a non-starter in the race.

Anupam Sharma trained Green Jewel (Crown Jewels-Susanita) upset the apple-cart of the favourite Amazing Approach in the higher division, the opener of the day. Amazing Approach went to the front approaching the last 600 metres and came into the last 350 metres with a lead of about three lengths. Green Jewel covered ground from the outside to join the favourite with about 100 metres left and after a keen tussle got better by a ‘neck’ at the wire. Parade Queen and Golden Hawk were withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

K.Satheesh trained Dear Friend (Noverre-Shirley Moon) bounced back to winning ways in the Treasure Wind Plate. The favourite Roma Royal set off to lead the field over the 5 ½ furlongs scurry followed by Dear Friend. Roma Royal came in to the home stretch with a lead of over three lengths and was looking good in the last 200 metres with Dear Friend running green when asked for an effort by apprentice N.S.Rathore. Dear Friend however got closer with 100 metres and surged ahead of the favourite. Perception finished on being second while Roma Royal finished third.
