Modern Sniper raced close behind and as they rounded the final bend, made way for himself between the two and forged ahead on entering the straight. The bay colt drew clear under apprentice N.S.Rathore and Vijay Raaj was haplessly left to take the runner-up berth.

Laxman Singh schooled La Terrasse (Glory of Dancer-Zenana) trounced the opposition in the Swamy Ramananda Tirtha Plate, a 1200 metres sprint for maiden 3 year old horses. Heading to the front from an outward draw la Terrasse maintained a two lengths lead over the favourite Steyn Nine till the last 600 metres and drew clear on the home stretch to win by a street. Jockey A.Imran Khan lodged an objection against the winner for interference in the last 20 metres and the Stewards finding no merit in the claim overruled it. Green Olive and Numinous finished third and fourth respectively.

A change in name brought change in fortunes to Ananta Vatsalya’s Take Stock (Epicentre-Okati Okato Okati) Ex Name-Kohinoor Revanta, in the Red Chieftan Cup. Mukhtar (Duja-Athlone) just managed to wrap up the Karimnagar Plate after a keen tussle almost right through the last 300 metres. Prince Warrior set out to lead the pack followed closely by Mukhtar. Inside the last two furlongs the two pulled away from the rest and got down to fight it out. Price Warrior held the advantage till the last couple of metres but lost out to the stronger handling of C.S.Jodha on Mukhtar. Yours Truly came in with a late dash to be a close third while Winjoy also came up late to finish fourth.
