MOVE IN TIME WINS THE PRIX DE ABBAYE
By Racing Correspondent | 06 Oct 2014 |
Move In Time won the G1 Qatar Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp in a sensational blanket finish to provide trainer David O’Meara and jockey Daniel Tudhope their second Group 1 triumph in a span of one month.
Move In Time chased the front group till the final furlong and was desperately looking for room with a wall of horses around. Once he found a thin opening between runners, shot through to deny Rangali a win in the final strides. Moviesta was third another ‘head’ behind.
An amazed Daniel Tudhope said, "I can't believe it. He has been beaten into second twice here so it was nice to get him up on the line for the win. I managed to get a gap and when it came I went for it. It's difficult to know where the line is here but it worked out well. I'm delighted for the team."
A relived O'Meara said, "That was a huge effort. I wasn't sure if he had it as he crossed the line. It's great. He's been very solid and finished second a lot this season. He’s run well here in the past and now he's won. It's great for the owners who bred him."
