RWITC REVOKES SHROFF’S SUPENSION

Trainer Pesi Shroff
The RWITC Stewards, at their meeting held on 28th October 2014, revoked the nine-month suspension handed out to trainer Pesi Shroff, after considering fresh evidence and mitigating circumstances about the Bullseye-Boldenone case. The stewards, however, fined the champion trainer a sum of Rs One Lac on the grounds of vicarious liability. They also barred trainer Pesi Shroff from sending his horses to any stud farm for summering or for any other reason for a period of three years.
Trainer Shroff had produced several mitigating factors claiming the possibility of sabotage and had gone to the extent of lodging a police complaint as well, naming certain persons as conspirators. This complaint is still being probed, and has not reached closure.
