Chad C Brown trained Bobby’s Kitten (Kitten Joy) came flying down the straight from the last position to nail the favourite No Nay Never and Frankie Dettori on the post in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint on Saturday at Santa Anita.

Bobby’s Kitten was held back to run last as Reneesegotzip set the ball rolling in front. Approaching the final straight Reneesgotzip began to run out of gas and the favourite No Nay Never cruised ahead and his rider Frankie Dettori looked to be in control nearing the last furlong. Bobby’s Kitten who seemed to have little chance at the turn was brought from the wide outside and when jockey Joel Rosario started to work on him, came tearing down to rob the race from the favourite in the last stride. Undrafted finished third.

"He ran a great race. I was a little worried early because he got shuffled far back," said winning trainer Chad Brown. "But [jockey] Joel [Rosario] rode him perfect. He knows the hill so well and that’s one of the big reasons we put him on this horse. We had this race in mind and it was a good decision. He’s terrific. He fits the horse perfect. This makes up a little bit for the disappointment of this horse’s race in the Juvenile Turf last year."
