Wesley Ward trained Judy The Beauty was ridden by Mike E Smith to scrape through in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint. The 5 year old mare made amends for her second in the last year’s edition of the Sprint, wherein she had finished half a length behind Groupie Doll.

Sent off at 31-10, Judy The Beauty set off wide to track the early pace setter Stonetastic. Shrugging off the leader easily as the entered the straight, Judy The Beauty surged ahead but had to confront the strong challenge of outsider Better Lucky in the final furlong. Mike Smith rode out Judy The Beauty to have her neck in front at the wire to provide trainer Wesley Ward his second success at the Breeders’ Cup weekend.

Jockey Mike Smith said of Judy The Beauty, "absolutely dynamite" and added, "I couldn't have asked for a better trip. Almost every step of it, except for almost getting caught.  She broke extremely well which at times can be very crucial for her because sometimes she gets away really bad.  I was happy about that; one of the best she's ever left the gate."
