Mr.V.Prasad Babu & trainer Kishore CVGK leading No Doubt (AR Pradeep Up), winner of The Committee Cup

C.V.G.K.Kishore trained No Doubt (Sunday Doubt-Alvinia / Hargobind Stud) stormed home in striking fashion to win the Committee Cup, a mile race for horses rated 40-65 that featured Wednesday’s seven races card at Mysore. Trainer Kishore who had saddled a double last week repeated that performance with Rocketeer in the very next race. With a small string of about fifteen horses under his care Kishore now tops the tally and will be the one to watch out, for those who look for good returns on their investment.

No Boundaries covered ground quickly from the outermost draw to get to the front followed closely by Mother Ewa. Little Athena and Cash is King raced close behind with the favourite Malkia tucked in along the fence. No Doubt travelled in about eighth position till approaching the last 700 metres and then gradually moved up from the outside to get to a striking position as they rounded the bend. Passing the 400 metres board No Doubt forged ahead to take the lead and keep going till the finish with jockey A.R.Pradeep riding her out with just his hands and heels. Society Music improved well from the rear but could only manage to finish second in front of the favourite Malkia. Cash is King ended up fourth after raising some hopes on the top of the straight.

Rocketeer (Senure-Aquila Oculus / Manjri Stud) who had won last week in the lower class made light of the 15 points penalty en-route to an encore in the Pandavapura Plate. Jockey V.R.Jagdeesh held back the 4 year old gelding in about fourth position early and let him go to the front along the rails as they passed the last 800 metres. There was no challenger in sight as Rocketeer bowled along merrily in front on the home stretch. Anonymous weaved through the field to snatch the runner-up berth from Dance of A General close to the winning post. Esoterical filled the judge’s frame.

Spinning Chakram (Lucifer Sam-Hyacinth / Sans Craintes Stud) made every post a winning one while pulling off an upset in the Treasure’s Nest Plate. The bottom weighted Spinning Chakram from trainer B.K.Narendra’s stables set the pace from the start followed closely by the favourite Royal Shaan. Flash Time and Secret Missile raced together close behind and the top weighted Spaniard tailed off last. Inside the last 400 metres Royal Shaan tried to work his way from the outside but Spinning Chakram continued to gallop freely in front under A.Ramu (without a whip). Secret Missile moved to take the second position with Royal Shaan tiring out to be third.

Trainer B.K.Narendra had earlier saddled La Piperi (Hurricane Centre-Real Mama / Singh Stud) to victory at nourishing odds in the Sakaleshpur Plate. La Piperi raced closed to the fence from the start and improved quickly to get to second as they passed the 800 metres board. The 4 year old gelding had grabbed the lead from Supreme Strength even before straightening for the final run and kicked on to be there till the winning post. The well backed Guapo was in futile chase of the winner all through the straight. Mountain Glory was a faraway third.

C.D.Monnappa trained Gelignite (Mathematecian-Hyacinth / Sans Craintes Stud) who had not raced for over ten months after its win on debut on this track did well to wrap up the higher division of the Bandipur Plate. Delta Delight set the tempo in front followed closely by Access All Arenas. The top two market fancies Gelignite and Masteroftherolls were close behind in third and fourth respectively. As they showed up on the straight jockey R.Vaibhav did well to ride out Gelignite to grab the lead swiftly and shot off to establish a sizable lead. The favourite Masteroftherolls began to raise a gallop inside the last 100 metres and the lead started to diminish but the lead Gelignite had taken came in handy and the gelding held on well by three parts of a length.

Hallelujah (Dubawi-Saaida / Nanoli Stud) which had come down to trainer Zareer Darashah’s yard from Western India scored an impressive win in her first run on Mysore track in the higher division of the Bandipur Plate. Taking a smart jump, the daughter of Dubawi hit the front and was headed for a short distance by Real Potential. Hallelujah had assumed command as they went past the 600 metres board and was never threatened thereafter despite the rider A.Ramu being deprived the use of a whip. Go Man Go chased the winner all the way up the straight. Friends Forever finished third.

Feroz M Khan trained 7 year old mare Windsor Park (Ajaad-Maltese Falcon / Sans Craintes Stud) who had won only once in 35 starts was supported to the hilt in the opener, the K.R.S.Plate. Jockey Shobhan Babu who rode the favourite, kept her well in third early and making gradual progress took charge on top of the straight. Windsor Park kept kicking on in the last 400 metres to justify the favouritism. Winning Desire who led till the bend carried on to finish second. Welcome Again and Magnetic Power finished third and fourth respectively. Shivalik Ganga was a non-starter in the race.
