Trainer P.C.Tejaswi had a profitable day at office on Wednesday, saddling treble. His charge Albatros (Royal Gladiator-So Ravishing / Pratap Stud) won the main event of the day, the D.Kumar Siddanna Memorial Cup. The gelding who was showing improvement over the last two starts galloped resolutely to win the sprint event. The speedy Majestic Queen, winner in its previous start showed plenty of initial speed to set out in the lead. Inside the last 400 metres Majestic Queen was still ahead but the lead started to diminish with Albatross getting stronger from the outside. Albatross grabbed the lead quickly and staved off the late challenge of the favourite Society Music who took some time to get into rhythm on the straight. Majestic Queen held on in third position from Zoe.

Tejaswi had earlier in the day led in Sivanta and Thrillseeker, both ridden by M.Rajesh Kumar. Rajesh also completed a treble for himself on Indian in the last race of the day.

Sivanta (Mr.Mellon-Marquisa / Ruia Stud) did well to beat the favourite Stride To Success in the higher division of the Nalamangala Plate. Stride To Success set off on a start to finish bid over the 1100 metres dash followed by Archer, Ophira, Sivanta and the rest. With about 300 metres left from the finish Stride To Success was still in front with Archer putting in a strong bid. Sivanta was pulled out from the inside and when urged by jockey M.Rajesh Kumar galloped fluently and sped past to spare a length and a half to Stride To Success. Archer and Fantasy Living finished third and fourth respectively.

Thrillseeker (Bees Prospector-Tulsa Time / Singh Stud) opted to go start to finish and was successful in wrapping up the lower division of the Panaji Plate. Thrillseeker rushed to the front at start with Rocket Ronnie being the closest. On the final straight jockey M.Rajesh Kumar kept riding out Thrillseeker and the 8 year old kicked on gamely to keep the rest at bay. Grace And Glory towed on to be second ahead of Ice Weapon.

The lower division of the D.Kumar Siddanna Memorial Cup was won by G.Srinivas Babu trained Lake Emerald (Black Cash-Eau De Vie / Equus Stud). The 7 year old shared the favouritism with Divine Love. Jolie was the smartest out of the gates, followed closely by Aanchal Beauty and Lake Emerald. Rounding the turn Lake Emerald slipped in along the rails and forged ahead to take it up from Jolie who fought back but fell short by half a length. Aanchal Beauty finished third in front of Divine Love.

C.V.G.K.Kishore trained Kohinoor Blitz (Sharp Attack-Bribe N Prejudice / Gee Stud) who had shifted base from Hyderabad last summer won for the first time on this track in the Skyline Plate. Flying Tricolour in its customary fashion hit the front at start and held forte till into the last furlong. Kohinoor Blitz racing in about fifth position till approaching the bend improved gradually from around the front runners and with a sizzling gallop sped past all of them under Irvan Singh. Flying Tricolour held on to the second place from a fast finishing Guapo and Saturday Affair.

The Alchemist (Oath-Liquid Gold / Pratap Stud) from the stables of Zareer Darashah, a maiden from twelve starts finally made it to the winner’s circle in the first race of the day, the lower division of the Nelamangala Plate. The favourite Cesaria raced in front with Vrajanandan and The Alchemist in close attendance. On the straight with about 400 metres left Cesaria looked to be under pressure and started to drift out. Jockey Arshad Alam was quick to change course on the The Alchemist towards the inside and the 5 year old gelding responded well to grab the lead. Subadra streaked in along the rails to challenge The Alchemist but failed in her efforts and ended up second. Beautiful Green and Vrajanandan filled the judge’s frame in that order.

Jockey M.Rajesh Kumar rode his third winner of the day with Vikram Appachu trained Indian (Emerald Cat-Astro Chief / Capricon Stud). Indian who had not won for a long time was backed to the exclusion of the other runners in the higher division of the Panaji Plate, the concluding race of the day. Racing in about sixth position till entering the home stretch, Indian started to get stronger from the wide outside even as Happiness had gone ahead passing the distance post. Jockey M.Rajesh Kumar rode out Indian to take charge from the outside and kept at bay the late spurt of Tulip from the inside. Happiness and Ensatus Elegans finished third and fourth respectively.
