R.H.Sequeira trained Un Un Un (Duja-Serious Trouble) proved himself to be a classy sprinter while annexing the prestigious Kakatiya Million – Gr.3, at Malakpet on Saturday. This is the sixth successive victory for Un Un Un and the 4 year old son of Duja has in his own right a worthy contender for the Sprinters’ Cup at Mumbai. Un Un Un showed plenty of initial speed to hit the front at start. Smile Stone, Topspot, Vijay Viraaj, Magical Spell and Carlton followed the leader in that order till turning for home. Inside the last 300 metres Un Un Un kept kicking on easily with jockey A.M.Tograllu not having to work her to clinch the sprint in a smart timing. Smile Stone and Vujay Viraaj kept fighting out for the runner-up berth with the former grabbing it by quarter of a length.

Multi Classic winner Tintinnabulation (Intikhab-Tourmalet / Hazara Stud) from L.V.R.Deshmukh’s stables won the 2400 metres R.M.Reddy Memorial Cup like a true champion. The race was more of academic nature with Tintinnabulation going into the race as ‘money back’ favourite. Stable Companion Vijaykeerti took charge within the first 100 metres and set the pace, leading by over 100 metres from the nearest runner. Tintinnabulation travelled easy in second last position till turning for home. On top of the straight jockey P.S.Chouhan brought Tintinnabulation from around the runners in front even as Vijaykeerti packed up and the ‘Champion’ strode out majestically. For the record Greek Star finished second, ahead of Brahmani and Snow Bird.

Jockey P.S.Chouhan was at his usual self on Saturday, booting home a treble. Racing Ruler and Sprint Legend, both from trainer K.S.V.Prasad Raju’s stables were his other two winners. Sprint Legend (Street Boss-Tafcar) won the lower division of the Twin Star Plate. Moving up nicely from an outward draw Sprint Legend joined the leader Mukhtar. The two came in together into the straight and was joined by Numinous from the outside as the race came to a boil. Chouhan started to push his mount and Sprint Legend quickened well to forge ahead. Numinous finished second. Symbol Of Honour and Big Boss filled the frame.

Racing Ruler (Aussie Rules-Red Millennium) was another impressive winner in the lower division of the Ballerina Star Plate. Racing a handy fourth till entering the straight Racing Ruler responded nicely when urged by the rider and galloped resolutely to grab the lead. Rocky Hill chased the winner till the last 100 metres and finished third while Dandy Girl took the second spot with a late dash.

The speedy Mrinalini (Gaswar-Mint Royal) trained by Anupam Sharma made every post a winning one in the higher division of the Twin Star Plate. Rapidest was in chase even as Mrinalini rolled freely in front but ended up fourth as Rani and Drum Beat got the better to finish second and third respectively.

K.Satheesh trained Kimono (Noverre-Hounds Of love) scored her maiden win in the higher division of the Ballerina Star Plate. The 4 year old moved gradually to race on the haunches of Chandraja as they headed past the 600 metres board. Inside the last 400 metres Kimono moved alongside Chandraja and after a brief tussle forged ahead and drew clear. The favourite For Sure warmed up late but could only beat Chandraja for the second place.

D.Netto pulled off an upset with his filly Kalinda (Gaswar-Kilspindie) in the Attractress Plate, a seven furlongs race for maiden 3 year old horses. Tracking Whispering Pines till entering the home stretch Kalinda took over the running and kicked on easily. Moon Walker, Poll Promise and Silvassa filled the judge’s frame in that order.

Trainer L.V.R.Deshmukh led in his second winner of the day with Spanish Conquest (Byron-Set The Mood) in the Twin Cities Cup.
