Mr. Sarasam Madhusudan Reddy & trainer M Srinivas Reddy leading Woman O War (Imran Chisty Up), winner of The Hazara Stud Golconda Juvenile Million (Gr.3)

M.Srinivas Reddy trained Woman O War (Kingda Ka-Silver Clasp) stayed unbeaten from four starts, while winning the Hazara Stud Golconda Juvenile Million – Grade III and in doing so, the daughter of Kinga Da added a third ‘Million’ into her kitty. Vijays Joy who was also looking for a third ‘Million’ after winning all its three starts just could not match the strides of the ‘Woman’ and settled for the runner-up berth.

Woman O War settled nicely to brace the rear while Vijays Joy called the shots as they set out for the seven furlongs race. Woman O War gradually started to improve along the inside passing the 600 metres board and was up with a challenge into the last 400 metres. Jockey Imran Chisty began to ride out the filly even as Chouhan was in full flow on Vijays Joy and Woman O War forged clear to be ahead by two lengths at the finish despite lugging out in the closing stages.

Trainer K.Satheesh picked up both the divisions of the Sri S.Ramakrishnam Raju Memorial Cup, 1100 metres dash for horses in the highest category. Modern Sniper (Noverre-Wonder Smile) lifted the higher division, staving off the late challenge of Dusty Lady. Apprentice N.S.Rathore took Modern Sniper to the lead within the first 100 metres and held the advantage from Dandelion till the final bend. Inside the last 400 metres Modern Sniper quickened well to increase the margin and kept kicking on till the finish. Dusty Lady warmed up late and was finishing on but failed to collar the ultimate winner by three parts of a length. Make Your Day and Emerald Reef finished third and fourth respectively.

Super Falcon (Mathematician-Galway) scored an impressive win in the lower division. The 4 year old chestnut colt that had not missed the frame except in its previous start was installed as the favourite for the 1100 metres dash at 9-4. Super Falcon was speedy at start to hit the front as the gates opened and led the pack into the final straight. Jack Sparrow in chase of the leader all the way was ridden out to throw a challenge inside the last 300 metres but Super Falcon stretched out impressively to kick clear. Ashok Chakra rallied on to finish third.

Satheesh had the best scores of the day among all professionals with a treble. He had earlier in the day led in his youngster King Of Pop (Noverre-Atmosphere) in the division I of the Don Micheletto Plate, a race for 3 year old maiden horses. King Of Pop who was on its debut run raced in about fifth till straightening for home while Golden Angel tried start to finish tactics. Inside the last 150 metres King Of Pop started to bridge the gap despite hanging in and sped past Golden Angel to score a stunning upset. Aakash Vani ended up third ahead of Limitation.

Another debutante Vallee Secrete (Glory of Dancer-Miyamoto) from S.S.Faisal Hassan’s yard pulled it off in the lower division. The filly jumped out from the outermost draw awkwardly and veered out badly but jockey P.S.Chouhan controlled her well and brought her back into the running quickly. Inside the last 400 metres Columbus had taken charge and was looking good when Vallee Secrete started to stride out nicely and sped past to win. Kiss N Chase got the better of Columbus in the closing stages.

Trainer K.S.V.Prasad Raju’s ward Blossom (Burden of Proof-Callista / Kunigal Stud) scored an encore in the Rock of Gibraltar Cup. Sent in as the favourite among the fourteen runners, Blossom hit the front at start and settled nicely into second when Mukhtar headed past in the early stages. Turning for home Blossom regained the lead with minimum effort and held that easily till the winning post. Symbol Of Glory, Wedding Gift and Rubyonrails finished behind the winner in that order.

D.Netto’s Taviz (Echo Of Light-In To The Future) upset the apple cart of the favourite Ondha Ondha Ondha in the opener, the Aberader Plate. Tracking the leader Grenadier till entering the home stretch Taviz surged forward to take it up. Ondha Ondha Ondha began to gallop strongly from the outside in the last 200 metres and inched closer with every stride but the winning post came to the rescue of Taviz who had just scrapped through by a short-head.

Trainer T.Srinagesh and jockey David Breux teamed up to complete a popular double through Dandy Girl and Rock Heights. Dandy Girl (Dandy Man-Browne Envelope) scored a maiden win in the Capachino Plate. Taking over the running on top of the straight the 4 year old filly stretched out to win unchallenged. Pour Vous finished second ahead of Vijay Vaibhav and Upon A Star.

Rock Heights (Duja-Naval Guardian) that had won only once out of 32 starts was backed strongly to be the favourite in the Mount Everest Plate, the concluding race of the day and the filly justified the popular support under David Bruex. Bold Attack was out on a start to finish bid with Shatakshi in chase and Rock Heights racing third. Inside the last 200 metres Bold Attack was still in the lead and Rock Heights with a sustained effort forged ahead to score well. Allianz Arena beat Bold Attack for the second place.
