A long card of ten races was gone through at Mysore on Wednesday and the followers of money had to bear the brunt with a majority of the races being won by horses at nourishing odds. Trainer P.C.Tejaswi saddled a treble to stay on top of the tally while trainer Ranjeet Shinde and jockey Shobhan Babu combined to pull off a treble.

C.D.Monnappa trained Class Is Class (First Samurai-Special Tapestry / Jai Govind Stud) won the main event of the day, the Vidharti Motors Cup in a grand stand finish. The 6 year old gelding which had shifted base from Western India last summer thus earned its first win on the Mysore track. Sent off as the favourite at 3-1, Class Is Class was well on the haunches of Majestic Queen who tried to make it start to finish. Inside the last furlong Catharsis was the first one to challenge Majestic Queen but was finding it hard to get to the leader. Class Is Class was between the two and with jockey D.Gnaneshwar going all out towards the closing stages, came with a resolte gallop to nail the ‘Queen’ at the wire. Catharsis held on to the third place from No Doubt. Alizadeh was a non-starter in the race.

Micheal Eshwer trained Sancy (Phoenix Tower-Anmol / Manjri Stud) who had scored a maiden win in its previous start completed an encore in an impressive fashion in the lower division of the Tuticorin Plate. Racing third behind Precept and Born For Beauty till the top of the straight, Sancy was pulled left to get a clear run and with jockey Keanen Steyn astride strode clear. Time Flies was up there close to Sancy for some time but fell back to finish third with Go Man Go taking the shortest way to be the runner-up.

Trainer C.V.G.K.Kishore had two of his wards at the finish in a three way finish in the Nilgiris Plate but it was the lesser fancied Kolaveri Di (Glory Of Dancer-Anthalia / Broadacres Stud) who pulled it off. Malkia racing prominently with Strive And Serve shot to the lead on entering the straight. Kishore’s favoured runner Grand Celebrations started to get stronger from the outside and Kolaveri Di was also up with them in the centre. The three began to fight it out in the final 150 metres and Kolaveri Di managed to neck out Malkia in the shadow of the winning post. Grand Celebrations finished third another ‘short-head’ adrift.

Ranjeet Shinde and Shobhan Babu teamed up to score a treble through Golden Cruise, Beautiful Green and Platinum Pearl. Golden Cruise (Eljohar-Classic Cruise / Mukteshwar Stud) came out of her maiden status in the opener of the day, the Star Angel Plate. The 4 year old filly carrying the top weight of 61.5 kilograms raced alongside Friends Forever till the last 300 metres and with jockey Shobhan Babu riding out, forged ahead to take it up. Erica rallied on along the fence to beat Friends Forever for the second place.

Beautiful Green (Storm Trooper-Royal Yavarro / Chhatari Stud) won the lower division of the Yamuna Plate. Shobhan Babu settled the 6 year old nicely behind Cesaria early. Entering the final 400 metres Beautiful Green set off beautifully when let go and extended the leeway to five and a half lengths. Chandini after accompanying the backbenchers for most part of the race was finishing on to beat the rest. Beautiful Life improved along the rails to take the third spot.

Platinum Pearl (Lucifer Sam-Aldiora / Hazara Stud) a winner on debut almost eight months ago came up with a good turn of foot to win its second start, the lower division of the Siachin Plate. London Eye set off on a start to finish bid with Platinum Pearl settling in about fourth position. On the final straight London Eye was still in front and Platinum Pearl locked for a clear passage was pulled left to be given a clear run. London Eye had established a lead of about three lengths by then but once Platinum Pearl picked up the rhythm there was no stopping him. The gelding flashed past and drew away to spare six lengths to London Eye. New Sunrise was a non-starter.

Two of trainer P.C.Tejaswi’s treble, Dance With Me and Albatross were ridden by apprentice S.Chethan Kalay. Dance With Me (New Famous-Let’s Twist Again / Privately Bred -Dr.H.Mirza) whose last win was over a year ago, won the higher division of the Yamuna Plate at nourishing odds. Delta Delight in its customary fashion led the field from start and Dance With Me was well up in second. On top of the straight Dance With Me took over the running and was ridden out by apprentice S.Chethan Kalay to hold off the late challenge of Happiness. Robinhood Pandey raced on to be third in front of Ground Marshall.

Albatross (Royal Gladiator-So Ravishing / Pratap Stud) won the higher division of the Tuticorin Plate, the concluding race of the day. Into the final 400 metres Country’s Nobility had taken charge. Albatross began to get closer and surged past to complete an encore. Society Music finished third.

Tejaswi’s Sky Jasmine (C P West-Free Hit / Galloping Acres Stud) posted a convincing win in the race for maiden 3 year olds, the Charmudi Ghat Plate. Roi Junior was the fastest as the race started to hit the front and Sky Jasmine moved quickly to track the leader. Into the last two furlongs Sky Jasmine surged forward to grab the lead and won by a lengthening margin. Mr. Go improved to get the better of Roi Junior for the second place. Generous Gesture and Sakura Delight were withdrawn near the gates after being troublesome.

Triple Victory (Burden Of Proof-Shenandoah / Kunigal Stud) from trainer S.M.Johnson’s stables scored an encore in the higher division of the Siachin Plate. Starsonboard who had received strong support in the betting to be the favourite rushed to the lead from the innermost draw and came into the final 200 metres with a lead of over two lengths. Triple Victory emerged in the centre of the track and after a brief jostling session en-route galloped resolutely to down Starsonboard close to the winning post. Coffee Time and Black Dragon finished third and fourth respectively.
