Injured Autonomy Out of Nanoli Stud Pune Derby

Classy Autonomy the firm favourite to land the spoils on Sunday is out of the Pune Derby line up, following an injury he is believed to have sustained during his morning canter on Saturday. Trainer Bezan Chinoy when asked by Indiarace said "he must have stepped on a stone or some object which may have led to his returning sore from his canter. It was an unfortunate mishap that one doesn't have control over. Its just one of those things" he shrugged with disappointment. Autonomy was the first choice for the Derby of many race goers and this news would have disappointed many. The only horse to have finished ahead of the brilliant Set Alight on the track had narrowly lost to Flaming Ace with the skin of his teeth in his prep run earlier this season. Autonomy not only loses a good opportunity to bag the big race but also a chance to avenge his shock defeat. He will now have to bide his time. It is still unclear as to what extent the injury is going to keep Autonomy out of action but it is more than likely that he may not race in Pune this season.
