SOLE POWER WINS THE AL QUOZ SPRINT
By Racing Correspondent | 29 Mar 2015 |
Mrs.Sabena Power owned Sole Power trained by Edward Lynam was ridden to victory by Richard Hughes in the G1 Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan. The 8 year old son of Kyllachy on a fifth straight start over the sprint trip at Meydan, having failed in the last for attempts, made amends to wrap it up this time in the Al Quoz Sprint in fine fashion.
Sole Power facing a tough field of sixteen runners was settled nicely while Hong Kong’s Amber Sky set a burning pace. Finding the gap Richard Hughes set alight Sole Power and the 8 year old responded in a trice to edge out Peniaphobia by half a length. Green Mask finished third another half a length adrift.
"Eddie Lynam [trainer] has done something special with him," said a beaming Hughes who has partnered Sole Power regularly.
