Trainer Kishore C V G K leading Generous Gesture (Md Sameer Up), winner of The Bol Publication Trophy

Trainer C.V.G.K.Kishore had a memorable day at Mysore, leading in three winners including the feature event of the day, the BOL Publication Trophy, with his youngster Generous Gesture (Sharp Attack-Venturous / Gee Stud) is making every post a winning one over the seven furlongs trip. The bay colt got off to a good start and headed straight to the fence to lead the pack. Inside the last 300 metres Generous Gesture was still travelling well and kicked on when challenged by stable companion Invincible Wish who was always in close attendance. Push The Limit came in late to get the better of Silver Prince for the third place.

C.D.Monnappa trained Miss International (International-Hurricane Jane / Mebajeona Stud) who still has the zest for racing at 7 years, produced her signature gallop inside the last furlong to lift the Queen of the Hills Plate. Miss International raced towards the rear in about third last till turning for home. Spiritual Blue was the first to take the initiative on top of the straight with Cinch improving from the rails to throw a challenge. Miss International in the meanwhile was flashing on from the extreme outside with jockey A Vishwanath going for it and wrapped it up by half a length from Cinch. Spiritual Blue was third another half a length adrift.

Kishore’s other two winners were Oriental Masti and Vettel. Oriental Masti (Glory of Dancer-Shaduf / Anil Bodani Stud) shared the top place with Dinesh Pujar trained Abbas Dreams (Black Cash-Dancin With Bertie / Equus Stud) in the lower division of the Karighatta Plate. Oriental Masti had won last a year ago at Pune and Abbas Dreams’s win was two years ago on this track. Al Dahma set off on a start to finish bid but was out of steam entering the straight.

The well backed Abbas Dreams quickly surged ahead to take charge and was ridden out by G. Sai Vamshi. Oriental Masti under M Madhu Babu began to improve inside the last 200 metres and inching closer with every stride went past the winning post locked together with Abbas Dreams. The judge could not separate the two in the photo and declared a dead-heat. Beautiful Life was full of running along the fence while finishing third another three parts of a length away. Sunspirit was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

Kishore who is known to pull out winners when least expected, did that again with Vettel (Senure-GInkling / Manjri Stud), a maiden so far, in the Red Chieftan Plate. The 5 year old gelding chased the pace setting Small Cruise till entering the straight and forged ahead. While the rest were struggling to get to Vettel, Sienna who was trailing till the top of the straight took the shortest route and rallied strongly to finish second by a neck. Supreme Strength was third another three lengths away.

Jockey Madhu Babu picked up the higher division of the Karighatta Plate with S Rakesh trained Ice Sprint (Warrshan-Secret Miracle / Ruia Stud). Delta Delight and Esoterical disputed the lead from the start and raced beside each other till approaching the distance post. Ice Sprint moved smoothly from the outside and Go Man Go looking to sneak in through horses was badly locked up for room. While Ice Sprint stuck to her path and won by 1 1/2 lengths, Go Man Go flashed on to finish second. The rider of Go Man Go took an objection against the winner for interference but the Stewards finding no substance in his claim overruled the objection. Delta Delight held on in third from Brigadier.

Trainer S.Rakesh had in the opener of the day, the Ganjam Plate, led in Shresth (West Verginia- Zayna / Nakul Stud). Sent off as the favourite at 16-10, Shresth was ridden to track the early leader Ensatus Elegans till rounding the home bend. Once on the straight Shresth took charge readily but began to veer out of the straight course. Jockey Sarvan Kumar kept the 3 year old going despite the drift to score an encore by a comfortable margin. Fantasy Living finished second while Ice Weapon and Always on Top finished third and fourth respectively. New Sunrise played up in the saddling area and was withdrawn.

Trainer Dinesh Pujar and jockey G Sai Vamshi teamed up again to win the last race of the day, the Oxford Blue Plate, with 7 year old Lads Ability (Diffident-Shaandari / Yeravada Plate). Settling behind Born For Beauty after a smart start, Lads Ability made its move in the last 300 metres and forged ahead of the leader inside the last 150 metres. Class Above and Arrete finished third and fourth respectively.

Bipin V Salvi’s Queens Cruise (Sizzling Melody-Special One / Dolphin Stud) went on a pillar to post bid and won the Scone Stone Plate. Kir Royale tracked Queens Cruise all the way from the start and not being able to collar the leader settled for the second place. Beautiful Effect finished on third ahead of Felicissimus.

For the professionals Kishore earned his treble while trainers S Rakesh and Dinesh Pujar and jockeys Madhu Babu, G Sai Vamshi and A Viahwanath scored a brace each.
