The curtains came down on the 20 days Mysore season on Thursday with a long drawn card of ten races framed for the concluding day. Jockey P. Trevor who is on a roll, riding winners across the country bagged the championship with 22 wins while Suleiman Attoallahi having saddled 12 winners was the leading trainer. Dr.M.A.M. Ramaswamy was the leading owner during the season. Vishal Yadav trained Campeon with three wins and two seconds from five starts was adjudged as the horse of the season. Apprentice Ajeet Kumar with five wins was the leading jockey claiming allowance.

Amit Cady trained Pacific Blue (Chatham Strait-LA Marguerite / Ruia Stud) just managed to scrape through in the Udhagamandalam Trophy, the feature of the concluding day of the Mysore season. Sent off as the favourite at 6-4, Pacifuc Blue settled nicely in third while Artic Attraction and Spinning Chakram disputed the lead till turning for home. Once on the straight Pacific Blue moved quickly to get to the front. Dark William was trying to make a race from the outside and Artic Attraction coming back with renewed effort. Cool Baby was held up badly in traffic snarls on the straight and came flying in the dying moments after managing to get out of the mess but Pacific Blue and A Ramu had crossed the winning post safely by a neck. Artic Attraction was third another length and a quarter away.

The Sea Mist Plate, a mile race for horses rated 60 and above was won by S. Dominic trained Starlet (Eljohar-Cape Africa / Mukteshwar Stud) by a lengthening margin. The classic hope of the connections started her career in Delhi, winning two prestigious races there before migrating down south to Dominic’s stables. The filly had a go in the Fillies’ at Hyderabad where she finished fifth to Woman O War. Starlet, the youngest among the eight runners in the race was the firm favourite at 12-10. Aravind Ganapathy’s Sharp Witted set off on a start to finish bid and Starlet settled well in second with Queen racing close behind. Starlet moved alongside Sharp Witted even before getting on to the home stretch and surged ahead with ease with two furlongs left. Sharp Witted stayed on to finish second even as Starlet increased the lead to four lengths. Society Music encashed the ‘place’ ticket while beating Queen.

Joey (Sussex-Astigmatic / Badal Stud) from Gregory Sandhu’s stables was given a peach of a ride by P.Trevor to score an encore in the Esquire Plate. Better Than Ever went on a start to finish bid. Shivanta and Lake Emerald in close attendance. Joey was racing a close fourth. Inside the last 400 metres Joey gained ground from the outside and with Trevor riding out, forged ahead of Better Than Ever. Arziki took the third spot in front of Sivanta.

Vikram Appachu trained Amazing Connection (Alnasr Alwasheek-Arabian Lady / Teravada Stud) scored a maiden win in the Meerut Plate. The filly had finished down the field in her last start about twelve days ago but the connections reposed faith in her abilities and backed with conviction to be the favourite. Jumping out smartly Amazing Connections soon took the lead but decided to settle in second when Classic King went ahead. Galloping well from the outside Amazing Connection bridged the lead Classic King had established and forged ahead with ease to wrap it up. Western rallied on to beat Classic King for the second spot. Giralda finished fourth.

A good gamble on Feroz M Khan trained Grace And Glory (Kingda Ka-Beyonce / Nanoli Stud) was successfully pulled out in the division of the Nandi Plate but not before giving some anxious moments to those who had their money on her. Kentucky Rose was on a start to finish bid and was still successful in keeping Saturday Affair at bay as they came into the last furlong. Grace And Glory was in about sixth position as they turned for home and had a tough task on hand. The filly responded with a late gallop when all looked lost and sprang between horses to snatch the race by a neck at the wire from Kentucky Rose. Saturday Affair was third another length away. Momotaro was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

M. Bobby trained Catwalk Queen (Burden Of Proof-Cats Affair / Kunigal Stud) scored an encore in the lower division. Everlasting Memory, London Eye and Kodals Princess were withdrawn and the field was reduced to nine runners. Catwalk Queen raced a handy third behind Indian and Always On Top till entering the straight and surged ahead passing the 300 metres board. The 5 year old went clear by over a length while Indian held on to the second place from Always On Top.

Sharat Kumar trained New Victor (Oath-Bundle Of Roses / Pratap Stud) scored an impressive maiden win in the lower division of the Pratapgad Plate. The 4 year old gelding took a good jump from the outermost draw and was quickly in front. Extending the lead, New Victor was clear by almost eight lengths as they showed up on the straight. Still on a tight grip on the straight New Victor won it easily. Shubh Rahi and Simra finished in a close finish for the runner-up berth.

Imtiaz Khan trained Bolts Colt (Mr Mellon-Zarzuela / Ruia Stud) denied a win to the strongly backed Dancing Laurie a win in the lower division of the Lakshadweep Plate. Peppr led till the top of the straight and faded out. Dancing Laurie improved well to take it up inside the last 300m metres and Bolts Colt started to get stronger from the outside. The margin between the two started to diminish inside the last 100 metres and they went past the wining post locked together. It was a difficult verdict for the naked eye and the photo finish went in favour of Bolts Colt who managed to snatch a win by a short-head.

Trainer Amit Cady had saddled Breaking Away (Chevalier-Stupendous / Ruia Stud) to victory in the higher division of the Pratapgad Plate to complete a double for the stable. Winless from a dozen starts, Breaking Away disputed the lead with Vito from the outside till the last 400 metres and stretched out well to pull it off by a length and a half. Windyanna and Friends Forever finished third and fourth respectively in a close finish.

G. Srinivas Babu trained Ice Weapon (Black Cash-Willy Nilly / Equus Stud) scored a popular win in the higher division of the Lakshadweep Plate. Sent off as the favourite at 19-10 Ice Weapon who had not won a race for over two and a half years rallied strongly on entering the straight and won easily from Scorching. Reverberating finished third ahead of Young Gallant.
