Col.S.B.Nair & trainer M Srinivas Reddy leading Dare To Dream (Imran Chisty Up), winner of The Indian Navy Rolling Challenge Trophy

M.Srinivas Reddy trained Dare To Dream (Oath-Starynessey / Pratap Stud) had it going easy in the Indian Navy Rolling Challenge Trophy, a nine furlongs race for horses in the highest category, that featured Sunday’s races at Hyderabad. Five runners took the start and Plenipotent set the tempo followed by Ashok Chakra, Dare To Dream, Aventus and Tintinnabulation tailed off last after missing the jump. As they came in for the final run on the straight Dare To Dream was set alight from the outside and the gelding moved easily to take charge quickly and stretched clear. Aventus covered ground from behind to be second while Tintinnabulation rallied on to finish third.

Trainer R.H.Sequeira saddled a double through Gaarswood and Aika Aika Aika. Gaarswood (Home Affairs-Admiration) came from out of the blue to win the Dr.S.R.Captain Memorial Cup. Jockey Aneel had the 6 year old in last till the last 300 metres. Pacific Star after tracking Baazigar till the top of the straight surged ahead to take it up. Numinous and Blossom were in hot chase. Baazigar came with a long stretched gallop from the extreme outside and sped past the entire field to finally nail Pacific Star by a neck at the wire. Blossom finished third in front of Numinous.

Aika Aika Aika (Win Legend-Masquenada) won the Onnu Onnu Onnu Plate, a 1200 metres sprint for 2 year old maiden horses. The favourite Pentagon held the advantage over Golden Adara all te way from the start and was looking to make it start to finish. Aika Aika Aika started to challenge from behind and with a fast gallop stormed ahead to pull it off. Sweet March just managed to beat Pentagon for the second place.

Anupam Sharma trained Shatakshi (Case Law-Sharastamina) completed an encore in the division I of the Sangam Plate. The 6 year old who loves to set her pace did that once again, going to the front right from the start. Inside the last 250 metres Vijays Triumph was in strong chase but Shatakshi fought back from the inside to keep the lead and spared a length and a quarter at the finish. Rock Heights and Rajkumar finished third and fourth respectively.

Apprentice Md.Sameeruddin confidently piloted K.S.V.Prasad Raju’s Midnight In Paris to victory in the lower division. The youngster held Midnight In Paris to sit on the haunches of Kintyre Princess and once on the straight let the gelding to take charge. Military Belle was up with a strong challenge and getting closer but Midnight In Paris was pushed hard by the young lad to stay on by a head at the wire.  Arudra was third ahead of Komo Komo Komo.

Sameeruddin had earlier in the opener of the day did well to wrap up the Royal Tern Plate with K.R.K.Raju trained Royal Glow (Hurricane State-Entourage). Royal Glow was in the lead from the start with the favourite Gun Stream close behind. On entering the home stretch Gun Stream forged ahead to take it up and was almost a length in front. Sameeruddin started to push Royal Glow vigorously and the filly responded well to pick up momentum, bridge the gap and snatch the race by a head at the finish. Noble Heights and True Haven finished third and fourth respectively.

L.D’Silva trained Bon Ton (Arazan-La Unique) caused an upset in the last race of the day, the King Rama Plate. Disputing the lead with Angel Bell, Bon Ton streaked ahead on the straight and extended well till the finish. Arazenka rallied on to finish second ahead of I Am Rare and Gun Barrel.
