VIJAY VIDHATA CONTINUES TO STAY BULLISH

Laxman Singh trained Vijay Vidhata (Gaswar-Blue Sonata) who is in pink of condition won its fifth straight win in the Ghulam Ahmed Memorial Cup, a seven furlongs race for horses in the highest category that featured Sunday’s races at Hyderabad. The 4 year old jumped out smartly from the outermost draw and settled nicely in third behind Palm Springs and Plenipotent.On entering the home straight Vijay Vidhata started to gallop well and took over the running from the duo in front who were weakening. Always Bullish was on a hot chase inside the last furlong but Vijay Vidhata carried on unperturbed to stay a length and a half in front. Happy Guy was third a similar distance away while Machiavellianish with a back breaking 64 kilograms on its back finished fourth.

Trainer Laxman Singh had earlier scored through Red Rambble (Top Class-Lady Escort / Mukteshwar Stud) in the supporting event of the day, the Andhra Sub Area Cup. Junior set the tempo followed closely by Red Rambble with the rest many lengths behind as they set out for the 2400 metres trip. Passing the 1400 metres Red Rambble moved ahead to take the running. Inside the last 200 metres Junior from the outside and the favourite Tiger from the wider outside came up strongly to challenge and the race looked open among the three. Apprentice S.S.Tanwar kept urging Red Rambble  and the gelding responded readily to skip away to spare a length to Junior at the finish. Tiger was third and the rest over a distance behind.

Trainer M.Srinivas Reddy saddled a double through Without Makeup and Market Leader. Without Makeup made it a start to finish affair in the opener, the Chaitanya Ratham Plate for 2 years old maiden horses. Inside the last 150 metres Without Makeup began to drift out but with Imran Chisty on the saddle was firmly in control to spare 2 ¾ lengths to Surprise Party at the finish. Magnum and Symbol Of Star’s finished third and fourth respectively.

Debutante Market Leader (China Visit-Only Royale) snatched the victory from the race favourite Masti on the post. Masti disputed the lead with Symbol Of Pride all the way till the last 200 metres. Masti went clear from thereon and Market Leader began to improve from behind. Inside the last 100 metres Market Leader moved with a resolute gallop and bridging the lead at a fast pace and got her head in front at the wire. Symbol Of Pride stayed on in third with Exclusive Monarchy taking the fourth spot.

Anupam Sharma trained Aakash Vani (Eljohar-Carmen) won the lower division. The filly held a slight advantage over Time Is Luck till turning for home and stepped up pace to increase the lead. The Blue started to charge in towards the closing stages and the lead was fast diminishing but the winning post came to the rescue of the favourite Aakash Vani who held on by a head. Time Is Luck came in third.  

L.V.R.Deshmukh trained Vijay Vaishnavee (Yeats-Bright Hope) scored an encore in the Gajasimha Rao Memorial Cup. Vijay Vaishnavee was held back to run last while Vijays Triumph set off to the lead opening a big lead. Machine Gun raced second followed by Alameda, Winjoy, That’s my Darling and Vijay Vaishnavee. Turning for home Vijay Vaishnavee took the shortest way and improving swiftly shot ahead inside the last 100 metres to wrap it up from Winjoy. The favourite That’s My Darling finished third in front of Machine Gun.

M.Sathyanarayana trained Lightening Streak (Bushranger-Salagama) justified the favouritism in the Solitaire Plate. The 4 year old filly sent off at 11-10 chased the leader Buckshee till the top of the straight and surging forward drew clear effortlessly. While Buckshee finished second the Yet Another was third a distance away. Fresco was fourth.

D.Netto trained Sea Change (Lord Admiral-Spanish Whisper / Manjri Stud) who was winless from 18 starts finally made it in a tight finish in the higher division of the Tribute Plate. Sea Change was slow into the start and improving gradually ran in about sixth around the bend. Gun Stream grabbed the lead in the last furlong and Upon A Star came in charging from the inside. As the two set for a clash Sea Change got stronger from the outside and joined the fight. Sea Change and Upon A Star went past the winning post locked together and the magic eye gave the verdict in favour of the former. Gun Stream was third another three parts of a length away.

Jockey A.M.Tograllu rode Arjun Anne trained Zensational (Noverre-E Sharp) to a start to finish victory in the lower division. Walloper and Professor were in chase inside the last 200 metres but Zensational was comfortably home by two lengths and the two finished second and third respectively in a close finish. Kaadambini finished fourth.
