Mr Ahmed Alam Khan & trainer L V R Deshmukh leading England (A Imran Khan Up), winner of The Juvenile Million

L.V.R.Deshmukh schooled England (Phoenix Tower-Euro Star / Manjri Stud) started off his career with an impressive win in the Juvenile Million. The youngster on a debut received strong support in the betting to be backed down to on-money favouritism. After being hustled a bit after jumping out, jockey A Imran Khan preferred to settle England towards the rear aloes to the fence while Montana Sky led from the front. England was pulled out gradually as they turned for home and Imran rode out strongly from the outside. England got stronger inside the last 150 metres and forged ahead of Montana Sky. Mahathi finished third ahead of Doroteo.

M.Srinivas Reddy trained Greek Star (Sedgefield-Maid Of The Mist) sent off as the favourite at 2-1 did well to win the Ch.Sathyanarayana Rao of Otkyal Memorial Cup. The 5 year old was off to a good start from 11 draw and was quickly up with the pace in about fourth or fifth while Santa Monica cut a decent pace. Getting stronger from the outside Greek Star forged ahead to grab the lead approaching the last 300 metres and was in full control. Sherman Oaks and Supreme Fairy warmed up late to take the second and third places respectively. Vista filled the judge’s frame.

L.D’Silva trained Grand Canyon (Danehill Star-Lenavi) who was improving places in the last three starts came good to score a maiden win in the Starry Scene Plate. Exclusive Lady led from the start and came in first into the straight. Symbol Of Honour rallied well to surge past approaching the last furlong and was looking good when Grand Canyon came tearing down and with a flying finish sped past to pull it off. Exclusive Lady finished thid and Classic Emerald fourth.

Jockey Deep Shanker rode Laxman Singh’s Noble Citizen (Glory Of Dancer-Dance Diva / Sans Craintes Stud) to a fine win in the higher division of the Crown Treasure Plate. Tracking the top weighted Prince of Arabia till turning for home, Noble Citizen grabbed the lead without much fuss and stretched out comfortably. Par Excellence managed to beat Prince Of Arabia for the second place.

Donald Netto trained Fruit Roll Up (C P West-Fabulously Bold) bounced back to winning ways, just scraping through in the division I of the Classic Style Plate. Sprint Legend and Advocate General raced almost together in front and Fruit Roll Up was settled in third. Approaching the last 300 metres Imran Khan began to ride out Fruit Roll Up and the filly carrying the top weight of 62.5 kilograms was a bit hesitant but with Imran’s persistence forged ahead. Crown Royal came in threateningly but Imran kept riding out to stick her head out at the finish. Advocate General was third in front of Delta Force.

King Of pop (Noverre-Atmosphere) from K.Satheesh’s stables scored comfortably in the second division of the race. Taking advantage of a favourably inside draw, King Of Pop headed to the front from the start and stretched out easily on the straight. Tinsel Town rallied on to be second while the short priced favourite Vallee Secrete charged in late to be third.

Anupam Sharma trained Sketch Of Beauty (Black Cash-Wisdom Queen) won the division 3 of the Classic Style Plate. Racing a handy third along the fence behind Shatakshi and Vijay Sakhi till the top of the straight Sketck Of Beauty surged ahead without much effort and carried on till the finish. Vijay Sakhi finished second while Aston Doulton and Mighty Swing ended up third and fourth respectively.

Trainer Anupam Sharma earned his double through Military Belle (Oath-She’s Hip) in the lower division of the Classic Treasure Plate, the concluding race of the day. Rocking Racer set the pace followed closely by Rajkumar. Military belle was settled nicely in third followed by the rest of them. Approaching the last 300 metres Military Belle was set alight from the outside and the 5 year old drew clear and extended easily. Fenway Court was second ahead of the favourite Sonic. Jerrell finished fourth.

Laxman Singh trained Kiss N Chase (Top Class-Lovely Senorita) was given a confident ride by apprentice S.S.Tanwar to lift the Palampet Plate. Seven runners took off for the 2200 metres trip and Kiss N Chase was well in front by the time they crossed the mile marker. Strengthandbeauty was the only challenger inside the last furlong, putting up a brave fight but Kiss N Chase travelled the better and spared a length and a half at the finish. City Tex was third many lengths behind.
