Mr Gudur Narayana Reddy & trainer K S V Prasad Raju leading Aventus (N Rawal Up), winner of The Qutab Shahi Million

K.S.V.Prasad Raju trained Aventus (Ace-Starboard) went on a start to finish bid to thrash the three opponents including the short priced favourite Schiavone in the Qutab Shahi Million. Aventus, the oldest at 6 years set off in front to lead followed by Schiavone, That’s My Darling and Vijay Viraaj. Inside the last 400 metres on the straight Aventus kept kicking on with the rider Nilesh Rawal doing his best and Schiavone who tried to get to the leader was left with no gas in the tank and surrendered the runner-up berth rather meekly to Vijay Viraaj. Always Bullish was withdrawn from the race.

Trainer D.Netto had a good day, sending out four winners from the saddle. He won both the divisions of the R.C.T.C.Cup. Galiat (Mull Of Kintyre-Brazillia) who is not a known sprinter bagged the higher division. Galiat was racing in about fifth initially and moved up to challenge from the outside on entering the straight. Vijays Joy was trying to hang on to the lead even as the favourite King Of pop was hard at work. Jockey Imran Khan brought Galiat from the outside and the 6 year old speeded up to forge ahead inside the last furlong. King Of Pop got the better of Vijays Joy for the second place.

Fruit Roll Up (C P West-Fabously Bold) was back to winning ways in the lower division of the race for horses in the highest category. Well fancied stable companion Parade Queen showed plenty of speed at start and set off on a start to finish bid. Racing well in about fourth till turning for home Fruit Roll Up started to get closer from the outside and sped past with 100 metres left from the finish. Noble Citizen beat Parade Queen for the second place in the concluding stages of the race. Blossom came in late to be a close fourth.

Jockey A. Imran Khan rode Sea Castle (Green Coast-Ice Castle) to victory for Netto in the Pleasure Hunt Plate. Chasing the leader Platinum till the top of the straight Sea Castle gained momentum when given a few cracks and spurted out to take charge and draw away. Ruby’s Gift, Cash Landing and Silver Dollar filled the judge’s frame in that order.

Netto earned his fourth winner through Roi’s Cruise (Roi MAudit-Blues Clues) in the lower division of the Sunny Blossom Plate, the concluding race of the day. The race favourite Commanding Boy disputed the lead with Love For The Game till the top of the straight and went clear. Roi’s Cruise weaved through the field and streaking from the inside shot ahead inside the final furlong. Little Smart Heart and Bon Ton finished third and fourth respectively.

K.Satheesh trained Moon Walker (Noverre-Special Quest) shot to the lead as the gates opened in the higher division and kept that lead till the winning post. Vallee Secrete came charging towards the closing stages but Moon Walker was safely home by quarter of a length. Tinsel Town and Shivalik Bird were close behind in third and fourth respectively.

Trainer L.V.R.Deshmukh led in his ward Rumaiya Vastavaiya (Duke Of Marmalade-Ridgey Didge) in the Chowmahalla Cup. Upon A Star had taken the lead as they came into the straight and was looking to pull it off when Rumaiya Vastavaiya who was settled well in fourth came up with a good gallop and stormed clear. Flamboyant Star chased the winner to finish second. Upon A Star finished fourth.

Deshmukh earned his double through Torremolinos (Alnasr Alwasheek-Encouragement) in the Hovercraft Plate in a close finish involving three horses. The favourite Baashagar grabbed the lead on entering the straight and built up a lead. Torremolinos improved well to be in chase and Gayle Force was catching up from behind. As they neared the winning post Torremolinos closed the gap and forged ahead inside the last fifty metres. Gayle Force rallied on to finish second ahead of Baashagar. Deal Maker was withdrawn near the starting gates.

K.S.V.Prasad Raju’s Golden Xanthus (Sharp Attack-Secret Wish) who was still a maiden was fancied strongly to win the Perceived Value Plate. The 4 year old did not disappoint its supporters and won by a lengthening margin. Golden Xanthus sat in third behind Team Motto and Fashionista till rounding for home. On the straight Golden Xanthus took charge easily and extended the lead to over five lengths. Golden Choix was second and Moghal Party third. Fashionista finished fourth.
