Mr Rajan Aggarwal, Mr Gautam Agarwal & trainer R R Byramji leading Anantara (P S Chouhan Up), Winnerof The Mysore Fillies Trial Stakes

The inaugural addition of the Mysore Fillies Trial Stakes was won by R.R.Byramji trained Anantara (Mull Of Kintyre-Brides Folly / Manju Meadows Stud). The filly did not raise a sweat while winning the seven furlongs race by a good margin of over four lengths. The odds were drifting out on Anantara and that probably put her supporters in a bit of bother before the race. Jockey P.S.Chouhan rode a neat race and never gave any anxious moments throughout the race.

One Step Ahead set the early pace and Anantara settled nicely in second. Sachi ran a close thir in front of Sweet Temptation followed by the rest. As they entered the home stretch Anantara forged ahead to take over the running and Sachi tried to throw a challenge but began to run green when her rider took the stick. Anantara continued to dictate terms and won effortlessly. Shan Ben Aari came in late to take the runner-up berth. Sachi held on to the third spot from Sweet Temptation.

S.Rakesh trained Momotaro (Rebuttal-Wile Wench / Hazara Stud) scored a remarkable win in the S.V.Subramaniam Memorial Trophy. Off to a solid start from the innermost draw Momotaro set off in front but decided to settle in second when Running Storm took over the running past the mile board. As they entered the straight Momotaro wasted no time in surging ahead and jockey Suraj Narredu rode the gelding in brilliant fashion to keep him going. Extra Spark was second 2 ¾ lengths away. Spinning Chakram finished in the money ahead of Alecia.

Jockey Suraj Narredu reached a personal landmark of 1600 wins when he rode out S.Rakesh’s Oceanic Storm (Apache Road-Oceanic Zone / Gee Stud) to victory in the Evita Plate. Grand Success led the pack and Oceanic Storm was settled close behind along with Campeon. Oceanic Storm joined Grand Success on top of the straight and with Suraj riding out surged ahead and drew away. Grand Success stayed in second while Dyna came with a late run to take the third spot. Campeon finished fourth.

Trainer Ranjeet Shinde also saddled a double through Golden Cruise and Sakchi. The strong handling of Y.S.Srinath enabled Sakchi (Phoenix Tower-Cine Star / Manjri Stud) to pull it off from the sustained effort of Society Music in the Whitefield Plate. Sackchi went on a start to finish mission over the seven furlongs trip and brought the field into view on the straight. Society Music began to warm up late and was covering ground from the outside but Sakchi went hard in front and staved off the challenge by half a length. As Good As Gold ended up third. Chandini filled the judge’s frame.

The speedy Golden Cruise (Eljohar-Classic Cruise / Mukteshwar Stud) made every post a winning one in the lower division of the Bugle Rock Plate. Showing plenty of early speed Golden Cruise set off on a start to finish bid and won unchallenged on the straight. Esoterical beat the rest to take the second spot. Zoe finished third and Samson fourth.

Feroz M Khan trained Sans Frontieres Burden Of Proof-Sans Eagle / Kunigal Stud) pulled off an upset in the higher division. Ice Splendour set off on a start to finish bid and Sans Frontierers sat well in chase. Inside the last 200 metres Ice Splendour still enjoyed a two lengths lead but began to shorten its stride. Malkia started to cover ground fast from the outside even as Ice Splendour gave up but Sans Frontierers managed to put its neck in front at the finish. Ice Splendour finished third and Deltin was fourth.

Md.Sajid Qureshi trained Al Dorado (Abbeyside-Queen Amedale / Dhana Stud) that had won only on debut over a year and a half ago won the Shivajinagar Plate in an impressive fashion. Racing in about seventh or eighth early, Al Dorado started to get closer as they approached the final bend and was pulled out to make a bid rounding the turn. Al Dorado quickly surged ahead on top of the straight and kicked on gamely till the end with Passing Fancy in futile chase. The favourite Scorpene ended up a tame third ahead of Invincible Wish.

Born For Stakes (Oath-Liquid Gold / Pratap Stud) from the stables of B.K.Narendra that had won a mile race two weeks ago won the 1100 metres scurry, the Mudigere Plate from start to finish. With the going being soft to good jockey S.John decided to take Born For Stakes to the front as the gates opened. The 6 year old gelding started to progress on the straight and kicked on easily. There was a blanket finish for the minor places with Golden Steps finishing second ahead of Aretes and Ayahuasca.
