KOLORS SCORES AN EASY VICTORY IN THE FEATURE

L.V.R.Deahmukh trained Kolors (Phoenix Tower-Krasnaya / Manjri Stud) scored an easy victory in the Sri.S. Raamakrishnam Raju Memorial Cup, a seven furlongs race for horses in the highest category that featured Sunday’s races at Hyderabad.  Red Rambble showed plenty of speed as the gates opened and set off to lead the field. Kolors settled down in second followed by the rest. Approaching the last 300 metres Kolors shifted gears from the outside and surged past Red Rambble. In doing so Kolors shifted in thereby crossing Red Rambble’s path. The rider of Red Rambble raised an objection against the winner for interference but that did not hold good with the Stewards and was overruled. That’s My Darling and Woman O War finished third and fourth respectively after a keen fight.

Jockey A.Sandesh who was allowed to ride after replacing the already declared riders following the re-alignment of racing date did full justice by piloting a double, both for trainer M.Srinivas Reddy. Prospero that had won both its starts completed a hat-trick in fine style in the opener of the day, the S.Malakonda Reddy Memorial Cup. Prospero set the pace right from the start and was in command as they came into the final straight. City Of Harmony tried to make a race of it till the last 300 metres but Prospero was on a tight rein and stretched out very impressively. City Of Harmony had to settle for the runner-up berth ahead of Strengthandbeauty. Dancing Leaf was a non-starter in the race.

Fabulous Jewel (Roi Maudit-Storm Command) who had last won about eleven months ago was given a neat ride by Sandesh to lift the Cupid Plate. City Of Destiny set off in front followed by Picture Perfect. Fabulous improved well from the outermost draw to settle in third followed by the rest. Sandesh started to work on the favourite passing the 300 metres board and the filly responded readily to take the gap between the front runners and skipped away to score an easy win. Amethyst and Back To Business rallied on late to take the second and third slots ahead of Picture Perfect. Exclusive Monarchy was withdrawn before the race.

Trainer Donald Netto saddled a double through Pixie Girl and Dream Vision. Both the winners were ridden by Deepak Singh. Draem Vision (Mathematecian-Crown Vision) bounced back ti winning ways in the Aristocracy Cup. Draem Vision settled to chase the early leader Ruby’s Gift. Mid-way up the straight Dream Vision was alighted to the task and the filly grabbed the lead effortlessly and drew clear. Ruby’s Gift finished second while George Cross and Bharat King filled the frame in that order. Rose Eternal was withdrawn before the race.

Pixie Girl (Green Coast-Premier Thrill) on a debut managed to edge out Amazing Venus on the last stride in the higher division of the Rani Laxmi Bai Plate. Amazing Venus showed plenty of early speed to go to the front at start and tried start to finish tactics. Pixie Girl began to gather momentum with 100 metres left and covering ground at a fast pace collared Amazing Venus on the last stride. Golden Joy finished third and Play it cool fourth.

S.S.Faisal Hassan trained Platinum (Varenar-Willy Nilly) scored a stunning upset in the lower division. Jockey Akshay Kumar took Platinum to the lead as the gates opened and rallied nicely in front. Inside the last 150 metres the favourite Bharat Queen was asked to quicken but the chestnut filly was running a bit green and just couldn’t get to the leader. Avenida ended up third followed by Own Battle.

Sk Waseem Ahmed trained Green Image (Sussex-Citi Star) was another longshot to score in the High Tide Plate. Racing in about fifth till entering the straight Green Image began to creep up from the outside even as Charlie Brown and Tinsel Town were fighting out in front and with a good surge forged ahead inside the last 100 metres. Charlie Brown and Tinsel Town finished second and third respectively, in front of Princess Hina.

Trainer Laxman Singh kept his tally ticking with a solitary win through Crown Royal (Multidimensional-Wave Of Bliss) in the Sunny Blossom Plate. The 5 years old came up well from an outward draw and settled in about fourth or fifth. On the home stretch Exclusive Beauty had take charge from Egyptian Wind and looking to go for it when Crown Royal came storming from the outside and scored an authoritative victory. Trustful rallied on to be second while Naamdhari beat Egyptian Wind for the third place.

R.H.Sequeira trained Onk Onk Onk (Tariq-Musical Pepper) that was winless from 10 starts finally came good to score in the division III of the Vijay’s Conquer Plate. Racing in about fourth over five lengths from the leader Yes Baby, Onk Onk Onk started to cover ground inside the last 200 metres and with a sizzling gallop flashed ahead to wrap it off. Steyn Memories finished third and Jamie fourth.
