Trainer Neil Darashah leading Zodiac (Suraj Narredu Up), winner of The Sanctity Trophy

Neil Darashah trained Zodiac (Phoenix Tower-Gobelin / Manjri Stud) carried the Manjri silks to a facile win in the Sanctity Trophy at Mysore. The favourite Amazing Charm set off on a start to finish mission over the nine furlongs trip. Spirit And Truth raced in second followed by Zodiac, Script Writer and Naval Glory. As the five runners turned for home Amazing Charm already looked to be a spent force and Spirit And Truth surged ahead to take over the running. Zodiac was alighted to the task by Suraj Narredu inside the last 300 metres and the 5 year old responded readily to swoop on Spirit And Truth and go ahead by a length and a quarter. Naval Glory got the better of the weakening Amazing Charm for the third place.

Secret Dimension (Multidimensional-Secret Garden / Usha Stud) from trainer V. Narayana Gowda’s yard justified the favouritism in the division I of the K.T.Shamaiah Gowda Memorial Trophy in a close finish. Rounding the final turn Secret Dimension found a wide gap along the rails and slipped in quickly to go ahead. Real Steel was up with a challenge along the inside and German Guide was also getting stronger from the outside. The lead kept changing between the three inside the last furlong and Secret Dimension was driven out by Kiran Rai to poke through and prevail by a neck from German Guide. Real Steel was third another length and a half away. Winged King filled the frame.

Ranjeet Shinde trained Sachi (Win Legend-Empress Ann / Hargobind Stud) carried the top weight of 62.5 to a start to finish victory in the division I of the Datta Jewellers Trophy. The 3 years old filly was the overwhelming favourite at 10-7 ‘on’ among the dozen runners for the 1200 metres trip. Sachi was speedy at start and jockey S.John took her straight to lead the field. Speed Queen and Kentucky Rose rushed from the outside to join the leader but Sachi stubbornly kept her lead. Into the final straight Sachi was clear by over four lengths and extended the leeway to finish a distance ahead of Flames Fury in second. Only Princess was further behind in third and Better Than Ever finished fourth.

S.M.Johnson trained Appaloosa (Chevalier-Tanzanite Lady / Ruia Stud) who was showing out in the morning trials reproduced that form to win the lower division. Hot Star set out in front followed closely by Asian Star. Appaloosa raced a close third followed by the rest. On entering the straight jockey T.S.Jodha guided Appaloosa through the shortest way and the grey filly took charge without any fuss and stretched out easily. Hot Star drifted out of the straight course but still remained in second. Cullinan and Go Green finished third and fourth respectively. Strong Conviction was withdrawn before the start.

Amit Cady trained Breaking Away (Chevalier-Stupendous / Ruia Stud) was backed strongly to win the higher division of the Shivakashi Plate. The 5 year old took a good jump and after leading briefly settled down to race fourth when Icepick Willie went ahead to lead. Delilah rushed to be second and Selfie third. Approaching the entrance of the home turn Breaking Away began to move up from around the front runners and joined Icepick Willie on top of the straight. Breaking Away surged ahead with 300 metres left but Icepick Willie offered stiff resistance. The two fought out the last 250 metres and with jockey Prashant P Dhebe riding out Breaking Away held off by a neck. Scorching finished third and Miss Wonder fourth.

In the lower division S.Inayathulla trained Indian Fury (Chevalier-Southern Star / Ruia Stud) came good to score her maiden win. Racing in about sixth while Amaze set the ball rolling in front Indian Fury took the shortest way to improve places and was quickly in second on the straight. Moving swiftly from the outside Indian Fury forged ahead of Amaze inside the last 150 metres and drew clear under P.S.Chouhan.

Young apprentice Prasanth P Dhebe who is growing with confidence with every ride earned his double for the day through G.Sandhu trained Saltoro Ridge (Burden Of Proof-Indian Mission / Kunigal Stud) in the lower division of the K.T.Shamaiah Gowda Memorial Trophy. I Smile went on a start to finish bid and Saltoro Ridge raced in fifth. Approaching the final furlong Saltoro Ridge improved through the field and surged ahead to take over the running. Yellow Zone came charging from the outside but Saltoro Ridge and Dhebe were safely home by a length. I Smile finished third.
