WOMAN O WAR STICKS TO HER TASK

Trainer KRK Raju leading Woman O War (Kunal Bunde Up), winner of the Totaram's Cup

K.R.K.Raju trained Woman O War (Kingda Ka-Silver Clasp / Jai Govind Stud) justified the strong favouritism en-route to an encore in the Totaram’s Cup, a 2000 metres race for horses in the highest category that featured Monday’s races at Hyderabad. Supreme Fairy led the field of six runners followed by Machine Gun. Woman O War settled in third two away from the fence with Time For Fun close behind along the rails. Rebellion and Noble Citizen braced the rear. The order was almost the same till they came into the home stretch. Once on the straight Woman O War made progress from the outside and surged ahead without any fuss. Supreme Fairy stayed on in second and Time For Fun took the third spot. Rebellion filled the frame.

Found Money (Arazan-Forever Elegance) from trainer L.V.R.Deshmukh’s stables scored a facile victory in the Red Orchid Plate. Sent off as an on-money favourite, Found Money settled to track the leader Modern Sniper right from the start. Inside the last 400 metres jockey P.S.Chouhan started to use his hands on the favourite and the gelding responded readily to take over the running. Inside the last furlong Found Money left the rest standing behind and drew clear. Cloud Dancer, Blue Eyed Babe and Brilliant Twist filled the judge’s frame in that order. Kalinda was withdrawn before the start of the race.

Deshmukh saddled his double through Vijays Honour (Varena-Mathematica) in the lower division of the Deccan Prince Plate. Golden Joy set off in the lead followed by King David. Vijays Honour raced in third and the favourite Chinese Thought in fourth. Inside the last 400 metres Golden Joy was challenged by Vijays Honour and Shakesphere was also gaining ground the widest of all. Vijays Honour surged ahead inside the final furlong and held off the threat of Shakesphere by half a length. Chinese Thought finished third another length away.

M.Srinivas Reddy trained Miracle King (Kingda Ka-Michele Marieci) won the opening race of the day, the Forest King Cup easily. Racing in about fourth or fifth till approaching the final bend, Miracle King made a swift move through the field and shot into the lead on top of the straight. Mandy offered some resistance but soon gave up as Miracle King moved away and extended the lead to six lengths. Princess Hina and Scooby Dooby Doo finished third and fourth respectively.

K.Satheesh trained Charming Beauty (Bushranger-Dealt) a winner in its last start over a mile was fancied to win the Rangareddy Plate, a 1200 metres sprint. Golden Angel leading from the word ‘go’ came in first on the straight followed closely by Beauty Flash. Charming Beauty began to cover good ground from the outside responding to apprentice Rafique Sk’s urgings and bridging the gap fast sped past Golden Angel in the last 20 metres. Sefarina finished third and Bon Ton fourth.

K.S.V.Prasad Raju trained Sonic (Carnival Dancer-Three In One) whose last win was exactly a year ago sprang a surprise in the Mr.Prospecto Plate. The 6 year old was held back in the last position and did not improve till turning for home. Inside the last 400 metres Sonic was alighted to the task from the extreme outside and the gelding came charging down to get past the runners in front and go ahead. Exclusive Beauty rallied on to finish second. Aware and Azazil finished third and fourth respectively.

The higher division of the Deccan Prince Plate was declared Null and Void after a faulty start to the race.
