Mr Fazal Ur Rahman, Mr K Harish Nayak & Trainer Prasanna Kumar leading Alexandrite (S John Up), winner of The Mayor's Trophy

Prasanna Kumar trained Alexandrite (Burden Of Proof-Cassandra / Kunigal Stud) was given a brilliant ride by S.John to pull it off in the Mayor’s Trophy at Mysore. Amazing Charm carrying the top weight of 62 kilograms set off on a start to finish bit over the 1600 metres trip. Into the straight Amazing Charm still had a lead of about two lengths and Alexandrite was racing fourth. John started to ride out the favourite Alexandrite inside the last 200 metres and the filly responded readily to bridge the gap and get the nod on the last stride. Society Music came in from the last position to finish third.

Seven Of Hearts (Burden Of Proof-Seven Hearts / Kunigal Stud), a 10-1 shot managed to pull it off in the Hotel R R R Trophy in a close finish. Racing close behind Mr.Carpe and Sakchi till turning for home Seven Of Hearts shot to the lead on top of the straight. The well backed favourite Pearl Secret joined from the outside and the two began to fight it out. Jockey Prashant P Dhebe managed to keep seven Of Hearts going and pulled away from Pearl Secret. Taqdeer Ka Badshah came flying along the rails towards the finish but failed to get to Seven Of Hearts by a neck. Pearl Secret ended up a tame third ahead of Russian Link.

Jockey S.John hogged the limelight with a treble. Calico Jack and Alecia were his other two winners. Mahmood Khan trained Calico Jack (Admiralofthefleet-Ciboney / Capricon Stud) beat the favourite Krieger in the Udhagamandalam Trophy. The favourite Kreiger shot to the lead passing the 400 metres board and was being ridden out by Chouhan when Calico Jack came charging from behind and sped past. Calico Jack was hanging in badly on the straight and John had to use all his might to keep the gelding on a straight course. Hidden Soldier and Private Paradise filled the frame.

Alecia (Win Legend-Whispered Gossip / Ponderosa Stud) won the Mandakalli Plate, a seven furlongs race with the riders not allowed whip. Racing in fourth turning for home Alecia gradually improved places and was on the haunches of Al Dorado on top of the straight. Passing the distance marker Alecia picked up momentum and surged clear to score an easy win. Cato’s Call came in late to beat Al Dorado for the second place. Zizzi finished fourth.

Darius Byramji trained Reference (Burden Of Proof-Lady Groush / Kunigal Stud) opened its account in the division I of the Coorg Plate. Reference forced its way close to the fence to have a slender lead over Handsome Stash as they settled down to race. Inside the final run in Handsome Stash started to challenge Reference strongly and the two fought hard for almost a furlong. Reference then quickened with Suraj Narredu riding hard and drew clear to justify the favouritiem. Havelock Princess charged in late to snatch the second place from Handsome Stash on the post. Firing Line ended up fourth.

It was another start to finish win by S.Narredu’s Strong Conviction (Ravel-Didjeridu) in the lower division. Strong Conviction went to the front at start and brought the field into view on the straight. The favourite Flirting Eyes who was lethargic at start and brushed up to be with the front bunch started to make a bid but was out of steam soon and fizzled out. Strong Conviction continued to kick on and held on from Daenerys and Love Is Life. Irish Prince finished fourth. Eloika was withdrawn near the gates.

In another close finish S.Inayathulla trained Elegant Star (Lucifer Sam-Celesta / Sans Craintes Stud)scored an encore in a close finish in the higher division of the P.Shanker Memorial Plate. Shivalik Dance was close to the rails in the lead as they entered the last 400 metres and Golden Nimbus was up with a challenge from the outside. T.S.Jodha brought Elegant  Star between the pair and with some hard riding edged out Shivalik Dance in the shadow of the winning post. Golden Nimbus held on to the third place from Summer Star.

V.Loknath trained Interactive (Sharp Attack-Angel Of Glory / Gee Stud) won the opener of the day, the lower division of the P. Shanker Memorial Plate. Thundersquall after chasing the leader Reverberating till the bend slipped into the lead on top of the straight. Interactive that was in third another three lengths away started to make headway in the centre of the track and with apprentice Prashant P Dhebe riding out, travelled the better to wrap it up by half a length. Noble Princess and Bolts Colt finished third and fourth respectively.

P.C.Tejaswi trained Badshah (Rock Of Gibraltor-Soul Sister / Manjri Stud) justified the support in the Nainital Plate. A lot of money came on Badshah towards race time, backing it down as the favourite at 9-4. Heidrun went on a start to finish bid and came in first on the straight. Badshah was travelling in about eighth position as they started to take the final bend. Once on the straight Badshah rallied on strongly from the outside and sped past the front runners. Getafix held on to the second position from Coffee Time who came in late.
