Trainer K Satheesh leading Time For Fun (N S Rathore Up), winner of The Mysore Race Club Cup

Trainer K.Satheesh had a profitable day, winning three of the six races that were gone through on Monday at Hyderabad. His 4 years old filly Time For Fun (Noverre-west With The Wind) won the main event of the day, the Mysore Race Club Cup, a seven furlongs race for horses in the highest category. Time For Fun settled quickly in second behind Kohinoor Thunder followed by the rest. Entering the straight Kohinoor Thunder started to weaken and Time For Fun headed to the front without any fuss. Vijay Vidhata was in a futile chase throughout the last 200 metres and held on in second from the late finishing Galiat. Always Bullish that went in as the favourite ended up only fourth.

Like Wise and Patron Saint were the other two victors from the stable. Like Wise (Dancing Forever-Farha) ridden by P.S.Chouhan completed a hat-trick in the Scintillating Plate. Modern Sniper set out in front right from the start followed by Lavender. Like Wise had moved up to be third approaching the 600 metres. With about 300 metres left on the straight Like Wise cruised up from the outside and went sailing past. Chouhan just waved the stick a couple of times and the filly stretched out impressively to win by a lengthening margin. Top Contender got the better of Lavender for the second place while Par Excellence just managed to make it to the board from Modern Sniper. Camborne was withdrawn near the starting gates.

The third win for Satheesh came through Patron Saint (Mull Of kintyre-Spirit Of Chester) in the Onnu Onnu Onnu Plate. The 3 years old dark bay colt opened its account by a good margin in its eleventh start. Cashel showed plenty of early speed to hit the front and Patron Saint chased the leader followed by the rest. Cashel was ahead till approaching the distance marker and Patron Saint travelled effortlessly from the outside to take over the running and win by a good 4 lengths. Ikigai and Citi Colors moved in late to finish second and third respectively in a close finish. Supurinto shunted Cashel out of the frame. Secret Art that was sent off as the favourite was withdrawn after being troublesome in the gates.

M.Sathyanarayana trained Exclusive Beauty (Sharp Attack-Golden Castle) whose last win was exactly two years ago was sent off as the favourite in the Smt.C.Mohana Kumari Sathyanarayana Memorial Cup and the 6 years old mare did well to justify the support. Exclusive Beauty rushed towards the rails as the gates opened to grab the lead. Leading all the way Exclusive Beauty continued to gallop well on the straight and won impressively. Ice Barrier chased Exclusive Beauty all through to end up as the runner-up. Grand Canyon was covering ground towards the finish while finishing a close third.

Arjun Anne schooled Elysian (Oiseau De Feu-Classic Scene) justified the short priced favouritism in the Classic Style Plate. Zensational led the pack from the start followed by Vijays Splendour, Hard Fought, Princess Rose, Elysian and the rest. Passing the 400 metres board Elysian started to move up from the outside but began to drift out of the straight course. Despite the drift Elysian went past the front runners and won comfortably. Perfection beat Hard Fought for the second place in the closing stages. Zensational after bringing the field into the straight finally finished fourth.

Sensational Girl (Top Class-Sensational Star) from K.S.V.Prasad Raju’s stables had not won a race from 15 starts but still enjoyed maximum support to be an on-money favourite in the Forest Treasure Plate. The 4 years old filly produced a scintillating gallop in the final furlong to win it. Jem Star went on a start to finish bid over the 1400 metres distance and Sensational Girl was still third last as they rounded the final turn. The rider P.Sai Kumar gave a couple of cracks even before the turn and started to ride out but the filly would not budge from the position she was in. On the straight Sensational Girl was alighted to the task widest of all and she picked up momentum only in the last 200 metres. Scintillating Girl flew in to win by a comfortable margin in the end from Jem Star who held on in second from Carnival Express and Kohinoor Flare.
