Young Prashant Pramod Dhebe who created a record of sorts was declared as the champion jockey with 27 wins and also the champion jockey claiming allowance with 23 wins. Dhebe added a treble on the last day, winning two of them on the track and one in the steward’s room. The Mysore Derby winner Ice Glacier was adjudged as the horse of the season.

Albatross (Royal Gladiator-So Ravishing /Pratap Stud) trained by P.C.Tejaswi got the K.Thammanna Gowda Memorial Cup in the Steward’s room. Generous Gesture won the race on the track but an objection by the second placed Albatross was upheld by the stewards and the order of placing changed. Generous Gesture went on a start to finish bid over the seven furlongs trip and came in to the home stretch with a lead of about two lengths close to the rails. Approaching the final furlong Generous Gesture started to veer out of the straight course and shifted again inside the last 100 metres obstructing Albatross. Dhebe the rider of Albatross took an objection against S.John the rider of the winner for bumping and boring and the Stewards upheld the same. Waterfall finished third ahead of the favourite Ascendency.

Masteroftherolls (Declaration of War-Absolute Faith / Chhatari Stud) won the higher division of the Mysore Jewellery Mart Trophy in a nail biting finish. Czar Rule led the field from the word ‘go’ with Masteroftherolls in close attendance followed by the rest. Czar Rule was still in the lead with 100 metres left and Masteroftherolls started to close up the gap. Rosie’s Dream bridged the gap in the last 50 metres but Precious Script held on by half a length at the finish. Grapes On The Sill came in late to snatch the third place from For Your Eyes Only. Pure Esteem was withdrawn on veterinary grounds near the gates.

Vikram Appachu trained Roland (Gaswar-Priceless Princess / Manjri Stud) turned out to be the biggest shocker of the last day in the Pratapgad Plate, paying a whopping Rs.1489 for a tenner for win on tote. Ignition had surged to the lead mid-way up the straight and Roland started to get stronger inside the last 150 metres. Bridging the gap Roland sped past Ignition in the shadow of the winning post.
