FOUND MONEY JUSTIFIES THE SHORT PRICE IN FEATURE

L.V.R.Deshmukh trained Found Money (Arazan-Forever Elegance) justified the short price and scored a facile victory in the Lingapur Cup, the feature of Sunday’s card at Hyderabad. Flower Roll Up was up in front from the start with O Ms Akhila and Found Money together followed by the rest. On turning for home Srinath guided Found Money between the horses in front and the 4 years old gelding shot through to cruise into the lead. Blue Eyed Babe tried to make a race of it in the last 100 metres but Found Money kicked on easily in front. Flower roll Up and O Ms Akilah filled the frame in that order.

Jockey Y.S.Srinath who has regained his magical touch continued from where he had left off at Bangalore, booting home three winners and finishing second in two races at Hyderabad on Sunday. His other two winners were City Of Wonders and Mr. Baahubali. City Of Wonders (Varena-Passion) romped home in the lower division of the C.Sathyanarayana Memorial Cup. Racing in about fourth or fifth all the way City Of Wonders gained ground to grab the lead mid-way up the straight and drew clear. Legend rallied on to take the second place ahead of Princess Hina. Gangadhar ended up fourth.

Mr.Baahubali (Stern Opinion-Miss Langkawi) won the Bakranangal Plate without being extended. Tracking the leader Mirfield till the top of the straight Mr.Baahubali went ahead smoothly passing the 300 metres board and galloped freely with the rider holding it on tight reins and easing up well before the winning post. Magna Carta, Sea Castle and Ans Ans Ans filled the board in that order.

D.Netto trained Double Charter (Lucifer Sam-Crown Charter) was ridden with great confidence by Louis Beuzelin to win the division I of the C.Sathyanarayana Memorial Cup. Louis took the filly to the front as the gates opened and led the field of eight. Double Charter was in total control on the straight and won impressively from Mighty Swing taking the second place. Advocate General and Aakash Vani finished third and fourth respectively.

Beuzelin started off his latest stint in India with a win on his first ride, piloting Donald Netto schooled So Far (Burden Of proof-So Charm) in the Cabaret Plate. Proud Warrior and Aerofoil came in almost together on the straight with So Far racing in third.  Beuzelin got busy on So Far and the bay gelding responded readily to storm ahead and take over the running. Far Sight took the second spot ahead of Proud Warrior. New State completed the frame.

Laxman Singh trained Veronese (Bushranger-Verbania / Nanoli Stud) came in with a late bid to score an encore in the Himayat Sagar Cup. Doroteo went to the front early and set the pace followed by Ice Barrier, Upon A Star, Cannon Grey, Caruba and Veronese. Once on the straight Doroteo was still in front with a good lead in front and continued to dominate approaching the distance marker. Veronese travelling last as they turned for home was brought from the extreme outside and the gelding galloped with big strides to beat Doroteo well before the winning post. Coruba and Cannon Grey finished third and fourth respectively.

R.H.Sequeira trained Mahathi (Carnival Dancer-Kia Ora / Hargobind Stud) on its tenth start opened its account in the Golden Plate. Good Confidence led the field followed closely by Ashwa Ashoka. Turning for home Mahathi improved along the rails and was up with a challenge beside Ashwa Ashoka. The two fought every inch on the last furlong and a half and Mahathi edged out Ashwa Ashoka on the last stride. Valee Tiger finished third and Monkey Shoulder fourth. Sol Invictus was withdrawn near the gates.

S.S.Faisal Hassan trained Canberra (Sedgefield-Sparklingchampagne / A B Stud) made it two in a row in the Trade Fair Plate. Golden Phoenix in front from the start led toll the last 300 metres. Vijay Vidyut started to challenge from the outside approaching the last 200 metres and Canberra who raced second last early in the race improved gradually and with a big gallop stormed through the front runners to win it. Vijay Vidyut held on in second from Star Player.

In a three way finish Ananta Vatsalya trained Proud Image (Gaswar-Anna Purna) prevailed in the division II of the Original Vel V.Balasubramani Memorial Cup. Garib Parwar and Fair And Square were in a keen tussle trying to outbeat the other when Proud Image came charging from the outside and pulled off a half length victory. Garib Parwar finished second ahead of Fair And Square.
