P.C.Tejaswi trained Lucky Pineapple (Phoenix Tower-Miss Danehill / Villoo’s Greenfield Stud) scored its first win at Mysore after shifting base from Western India recently. The 5 years old gelding was jointly fancied with Masteroftherolls in the division I of the Elusive Pimpernel Trophy, a 1200 metres sprint for horses rated 40 to 65. As the horses turned for home Bandito slipped into the lead followed closely by Class Above. Lucky Pineapple was in about eighth and jockey V.R.Jagadeesh pulled him out to make a run from the wide outside. Inside the final furlong Bandito was still in front and Lucky Pineapple came with a flourish from behind to swoop on the front runners and wrap it up. Bandito held on in second while Savannah Sound came on well to finish a close third. Class Above ended up fourth.

Jockey M.Madhu Babu’s persistence paid dividends on Rakesh trained Momotaro (Rebuttal-Wile wench / Hazara Stud) in the Lalbagh Plate. Bold Police had surged ahead to grab the lead from Venus Star and Spinning Chakram passing the distance marker. Momotaro started to gain ground with the jockey riding hard and sped past inside the last 50 metres. Script Writer rallied on to finish third ahead of Pikachu.

Michael Eshwer trained Sardinia (Arabian Gulf-Otelcaliforni / Manjri Stud) made it just on time in the Nagarjunasagar Plate. After a good start Sardinia settled in third when Here’s Abbey and Precious Asset forged ahead. Into the straight Here’s Abbey was still in front with Ascendency joining up from the outside and Benedetta ranging up the widest of all. Sardinia looked to move in-between Here’s Abbey and Ascendeny but the gap narrowed down and jockey Keanen Steyn had to wait for an opening. Benedetta shot ahead from the outside inside the last 100 metres and once Sardinia found way along the rails went for it and stormed home to snatch the race in the last few strides. Here’s Abbey finished third in front of Ascendency.

Jockey Arshad Alam rode out Pratap Kamath trained Ayahuasca (Adler-Anonymity / Pratap Stud) to a start to finish win in the division I of the Shillong Plate. Ayahuasca took a speedy start and had a good lead right from the beginning. Inside the last 200 metres Ayahuasca was still ahead and picked up momentum to increase the lead. Reach The Stars chased in second right through the straight and held on from Invincible Wish who covered lot of ground from the rear. Bryant Park finished a close fourth.

Vikram Appachu trained Forest Queen (C P west-Forest Bride / Galloping Acres Stud) surprised in the lower division. Jamais Vu set off on a start to finish mission with Ephialties and Sivanta in close attendance. Ole raced in fourth followed by Forest Queen and the rest. Turning for home Forest Queen began to make its move from around the four in front and gaining ground to diminish Jamais Vu’s lead travelled the better to wrap it up by half a length. Ole was third another 1 1/4 lengths away followed by Sivanta. Deltin was withdrawn on veterinary grounds before the gates.

Arrive (Medicean-Tetisheri / Kunigal Stud) that had found one better in its last three starts finally made it to the winning post after leading all the way. The 5 years old mare hit the front soon after the start and set out to lead in its habitual style. Skyjet chased the leader all the way and stayed on to finish second. Tulip warmed up late to beat Veni Vidi Vici for the third place. Clouds Of Glory was withdrawn on veterinary grounds before the race.

Feroz M Khan trained Country’s Power (Roi Maudit-Shadow Dancing / Country Stud) that had not made it to the judge’s frame in all its five starts found the soft going to its liking and galloped away to score a maiden win in the division I of the Common Grounds Plate. Golden Steps went to the front early and led the pack. Country’s Power settled well to track the leader. Inside the last 400 metres jockey Saddam Hussain started to work on Country’s Power with On Her Own and Samay Balwan also closing up. Country’s Power raced ahead with 100 metres left and drew clear. On Her Own, Golden Steps and Samay Balwan filled the frame in that order.

Esterhazy (Stardan-High Fortune / Rolli Stud) that was winless from ten starts scored an upset win in the opener, the lower division of the Common Grounds Plate. Bipin Salvi’s trainee set off in front right from the start and made every post a winning one. Time To Time took the shortest way and challenged Esterhazy, getting closer with every stride inside the last 100 metres but fell short by a neck at the finish. Coffee Time ranged along from the outside to finish third with Kohinoor Blitz ending up fourth.
