Sweet March (GAswar-Minetta) won the opener of the day, the Step Aside Plate. Shakesphere showed some early speed to wrest the lead from Sweet March. Approaching the last furlong Shakesphere was still in the lead with the favourite Sweet March looking to be under pressure. Beuzelin continued to work on Sweet March and the filly quickened well to push back Shakesphere. Darakhshan and Space Ship finished third and fourth respectively.

The youngster Kangra (Western Aristocrat-Georgina) on debut in the division I of the Olympic Flame Plate turned out to be a class apart from the other contenders. Sent off as the short priced favourite for the sprint event the daughter of Western Aristocrat set off in front right from the word ‘go’ and stretched out on the straight to defeat the rest by almost a street. For the record Desert Moon, Waverly Creek and You Can I Can filled the board in that order. Tough Sussex was a non-starter in the race.

Picture Perfect (Samhoon-Samurai Sword / A B Stud) was the odd one out in Netto’s quartet. The 12-1 shot won the division I of the Manjira Cup. Chasing the leader Malakeye Ziba till the last 200 metres Picture Perfect grabbed the lead and stayed well to spare a length to the late finishing My Choice. Apache Gal finished in the money ahead of Cash For Rank.

Princess Of Dreams (Arazan-Placid) opened its account in the Running Flame Plate. The filly chased Raja Hindustani and slipped into the lead as they rounded the final turn. Entering the last 400 metres Time Is Luck slipped into the lead without any fuss and kicked clear with Hard Fought rallying in to take the second spot ahead of Manogamini. Matica after showing the way till the top of the straight dropped out to finish fourth.

Blaze Of Glory raced in mid-field in the field of fourteen and improved gradually to get into striking position from the outside on the straight. War Cry made the first move on the straight to grab the lead but Blaze Of Glory galloped strongly from the outside and sped past to wrap it off.
