L.V.R.Deshmukh trained Highly Acclaimed (Phoenix Tower-Play That Tune) made a great start to its career, winning the Hyderabad Juvenile Million, a terms race for 3 years old run over seven furlongs. Jockey Y.S.Srinath nursed the youngster brilliantly while guiding him to victory on debut. Highly Acclaimed shared the favouritism with Far Sight as they left the parade ring for the feature of the day.

Bayrd set off in front followed closely by Far Sight. Highly Acclaimed settled nicely in third with Tootsie Roll and China Millenium in tow. Turning for home Highly Acclaimed was pulled out to make a bid from the outside and gelding covered ground quickly to get to the front. China Millenium and Tootsie Roll began to raise a strong gallop inside the last 150 metres but Srinath kept Highly Acclaimed going well to the finish without being harsh on the youngster. China Millenium finished second followed by Tootsie Roll. Bayrd filled the frame.

Trainer Anupam Sharma saddled a double for the second day in succession. His ward Baashagar (Kingda Ka-Le Reve) surprised everyone in the Sri A.S.Krishna Memorial Cup, a mile trip for horses in the highest class. Baashagar settled in third early behind Commanding Boy and Supreme Fairy and was racing close to the rails in about fifth or sixth as they approached the final bend.  On entering the straight Commanding Boy stepped up pace to stretch clear but couldn’t match strides when Baashagar made way and came with a big gallop from behind. Vijay Viraaj and Happy Guy fought for the minor places and finished in that order behind the winner. Commanding Boy was pushed back to the fourth place.

Anupam had in the earlier race, the division II of the Baile Lalith Pershad Memorial Cup sent out Aakash Vani (Eljohar-Carmen) on a start to finish mission over the 1100 metres scurry. Time Is Luck chased Aakash Vani all the way till the last 200 metres but fell back to third when Legend covered plenty of ground from the rear to take the runner-up slot. Par Excellence finished fourth.

In the higher division R.H.Sequeira trained Rubyonrails (Roi Maudit-Flaming Ruby) won effortlessly. Catherine led the field early with Rubyonrails in close attendance. Turning for home Mighty Swing rushed ahead and led for a brief while before Catherine regained the forward position. Tevor got the favourite Rubyonrails to gallop from the outside and the 6 years old went past effortlessly and stretched clear even as the rider eased his mount before the winning post. Mighty Sing finished third in front of Symbol Of Glory.

Sequeira and Trevor had started the day with on-money favourite Mahathi (Carnival Dancer-Kia Ora) in the Adler Plate. Silver Dollar went on a start to finish bid and brought the field into view on the straight. Mahathi had improved gradually along the rails to be behind the leader as they turned for home. Once on the straight Trevor started to use his hands and heels on Mahathi and the bay colt picked up momentum readily and sped past to score an easy win. Miracle King rushed through the rails to make a race of it but had to settle for the second spot. Coruba finished on in third ahead of Wonder Eye. Top Contender was a non-starter in the race.

Firm favourites won both the divisions of the Anmol Ratan Plate, an 1100 metres dash for maiden 2 years old. Debutant Palace On Wheels (Rebuttal-Sunset Boulevard) from Laxman Singh’s stables was ridden to a pillar to post win by Deep Shanker. The nine contenders took a level jump and Palace On Wheels showed plenty of early speed to get to the rails from the outermost draw. On top of the straight Jumeira Expree was in hot pursuit but the favourite left them all cold and extended the winning lead to almost five lengths. City Of Sails and Turf Legend finished third and fourth respectively.

M.Srinivas Reddy trained Warrior Supreme (Diffident-Encouragement) pulled it off after a keen tussle in the lower division. Asteria set out in front and Warrior Supreme was on its haunches right from the start. The race got to a boil right from the 300 metres board with Trevor on Asteria and Y.S.Srinath on Warrior Supreme pulling out their best. The two went stride for stride and it was Warrior Supreme and Srinath who prevailed at the wire by a head. Moondancer was hampered for a clear passage between the fighting duo and had to settle for the third place. True Hymn finished fourth.

S.A.Shehzad Abbas trained Man Of The Series (Sylvante-Pyjama Samba) romped home in the Members Cup. The gelding fought for its head from the innermost draw and settled in second behind Buckshee among the crowded front bunch. On entering the straight Man Of The Series surged ahead and kicked on gamely. Hard Fought was in futile chase and eventually lost the second place to Dhool Ka Phool in a close finish. Forever Bullish also joined them to finish fourth in the same picture.

In a three way finish Sk Waseem trained Our Ensign (Hymn-Melody Island) edged out take A Bow and Cruiser to score a maiden win in the Hovercraft Plate. Cruiser grabbed the lead as they entered the straight and opened a sizable lead. Our Ensign and Take A Bow came devouring from the rear and the three went past the winning post with just a neck and a neck separating the first three places.
