M.Bobby trained Extra Spark (Sussex-Machiavelli / Badal Stud) came up with a spirited gallop to lift the Vidhatri Motors Cup that featured Wednesday’s races at Mysore. Ancient Title took over the running passing the mile marker and opened up a big lead to be almost eight lengths ahead of the nearest contender as they approached the entrance of the home stretch. The rest of the field was scattered with the tail ender almost a furlong away. On entering the home stretch Ancient Title was out of steam and began to fizzle out. Extra Spark made a swift move to grab the lead with 300 metres left from home and held on well from the bid of Momotaro. Kaguya Himei rallied on in third while the fancied Michaela failed to produce the desired result once again and ended up fourth.  

Bobby and Prabhakaran pulled off a double through Moroccan (Phoenix Tower-Baileys On Line / Manjri Stud) in the Nilgiris Plate. The gelding had not placed in its half a dozen runs after its last win and had come down considerably in handicap. Racing handily in third behind Majestic Queen and Bandito, Moroccan started to gallop strongly passing the distance post and sped past the duo to score a facile win. Campeon came from long way behind to finish second ahead of Majestic Queen and Bandito. 

The 7 years old Teri Adah (Tejano-Sea Spray / Kunigal Stud) trained by Pratap Kamath scored an encore in the division I of the Yamuna Plate. Jumping out smartly from an outward draw Teri Adah rushed towards the inside to lead the field. Passing the distance marker Teri Adah was still in the lead even as Starstruck made a strong bid from the inside to bridge the gap. Apprentice Arman Jafri did well to ride out Teri Adah to hold on by three parts of a length while Dazzle Away snatched the second place from Starstruck on the post. Silver Oak filled the frame another three parts of a length adrift. 

Michael Eshwer trained Be Ready (Holy Roman Emperor-Meydana / Manjri Stud) slammed the opposition in the lower division. The 5 years old in only its second start was sent off as the favourite at 18/10 and the gelding set off leading the field right from the start. On straightening for home Be Ready had a good leeway of over three lengths and strode out easily to win by over six lengths. Catchy Charger improved late to beat the rest while Samay Balwan after being in contention for a while on the straight ended up third. Asian Star filled the frame.

Star Atrium (Hurricane Centre-Perfect Promise / Singh Stud) made a perfect start to its career while romping home among the maidens in the opening race of the day, the Charmudi Plate. The J.Saravanan trainee showed plenty of early speed and shot to lead the pack. Inside the last 300 metres Star Atrium stretched out easily to extend the margin to over four lengths and the race favourite Lord Iishley had to settle for the runner-up berth. Country’s King finished third ahead of Silvery Grey. 

C.Girinath trained Markus Sittikus (Imtiyaz-All The Rage / Broadacres Stud) that had won last time and relegated to second following an objection bounced back to win the Siachin Plate. The 7 years old carrying the top weight of 61 kilograms was well in touch with the front bunch and moved to be third turning for home behind Waterfall and Country’s Power. Waterfall held forte till the last 300 metres but Markus Sittikus picked up momentum thereon and drew clear. Miss International, Eudora and Cato’s Call went past the post in that order in a close finish for the minor places.  

Trainer S.Rakesh packed off both the divisions of the Star Angel Plate to strengthen his position in the tally for the championship. Everlasting Memory (Crown Jewels-Hunting Girl / Noble Stud) carrying the bottom weight in the field won the higher division at nourishing odds. Everlasting Memory was off to a good start and led till approaching the 1000 metres marker from where Getafix and Gracious headed past. Everlasting Memory was in close attendance in third close to the rails and once on the straight made a quick move to regain the lead. La Piperi was in chase in the last furlong to finish second ahead of Brown Fairy. Getafix ended up fourth. Safe Bet was withdrawn on veterinary grounds just before the customary parade in the paddock.  

 Beautiful revenge (Sharp Attack-Adams Madame/ Gee Stud) that was winless from 16 starts finally came good in the lower division. The favourite Delta Delight was out in the lead from the start and was looking to kick on in the straight. Beautiful Revenge racing in fourth till rounding the final turn made a quick move on the straight and with a sustained gallop surged past Delta Delight. Coffee Time missed the jump again and finished on to be third ahead of Pepper King.
