Kramer (Phoenix Tower – Meydana, Manjri Stud) earned his maiden success in his second start with a strong start to finish essay, but he had to fight his way all through. He was fidgety in the gates, but once they rolled out, he was quick to go into the lead with Lady Sergeant and Stunner by his side.

On turning for home, Kramer kept the momentum going and shook off Stunner easily. Lady Sergeant kept asking questions all the way, while the others did precious little to bother the fighting duo. Kramer galloped on gamely and always held a slender lead over Lady Sergeant and landed the spoils by half a length to bring about his first win. Lady Sergeant fought bravely but just could get enough to put it across the winner. Ice Dancer improved in the final furlong to finish in the money.

Nelsons Blood (Whatsthescript – Champagne Cocktail, Nanoli Stud) made ample amends this time and scored a clinical victory, grabbing the lead early in the straight. Nelsons Blood stalked leader Cristo Boss all the way into the straight and pounced on the leader making the first run. He shot ahead and soon amassed a handy lead and was going at a steady pace. None could measure up to challenge Nelsons Blood and the Vishal Gaekwad ward won with a little to spare. Pretty Angel is starting to look a lot more consistent and finished a decent second pegging back Viking. The well-backed Drogo was never in the hunt as he raced way down the field and in the straight was found wanting for speed and passage, receiving checks more than once, thus finishing in the rut.

Jockey Trevor was the most successful pro on the day booting home three winners in all. He opened the day’s proceedings with a fine win atop Gloriosus (China Visit – Glorieuse, Usha Stud) trained by Imtiaz Sait. Trevor braved to move to the front from initial third spot near about the 800, and then had Gloriosus galloping fluently all through. Gloriosus went from strength to strength and went carting away from the rest. Favourite We Break The Rules just could not quicken and ended a tame third behind My Precious. Gloriosus was simply too good on the day, winning it with ease.

Trevor’s third win came astride long-shot Ladislaus (Varenar – Gavotte, Equus Stud) in a show of fiery finish. Flamboyant Flame and Arakawah were the joint leaders turning for home, with Be Cautious and Sparkling Eyes ready to launch their assault. Flashy Wings too was warming up in the middle and then came Ladislaus between horses. Trevor seized his moment in split seconds as he found a gap along the rails and zipped past the front runners, Ladislaus up to the task showing good acceleration. Once he got to the front, he sailed away and easily held off the late finishing Flashy Wings. Arakawah managed to stay in third just ahead of Sparkling Eyes.

Multiglory (Multidimensional – Reflected Glory, Usha Stud) arrived with a sizzling burst to clinch the race and scored an encore retaining his winning form from his last victory. Jockey Dashrath Singh had him in the rear with Mekong Delta and made his move only after turning for home.

It was a fighting bunch at the distance post with Streetjammer, Eternal Sunshine, Nifty and even Batman in a line when Multiglory started to mount his challenge. He arrived with a scorching gallop and dashed past the front runners with awesome ease to sail ahead and draw further away to win with a blazing finish. Eternal Sunshine ran on to end second ahead of Mekong Delta, the last named finishing on from the dead-last position to finish in the money.

Smart Choice (Intense Focus – Cashel Queen – Exhilaration Stud) saw a smart gamble pulled off easily producing a scintillating run to win bounding away. Racing third behind leader Knight At Arms and Amazon Cat, Smart Choice ridden by improving apprentice SA Amit, warmed up nicely to switch gears inside the final furlong to make ground rapidly and romp home in the final 100. Smart Choice quickened just at the right time and shot ahead through the rails to score a comfortable victory. Knight At Arms did well to stay in second while Amazon Cat also staying on to earn the place stakes.

Apprentice SA Amit once again showed good skills in riding out Seacrets (Sakhee’s Secret – Oh Bej Oh Bej, Vikram Greenfields) to hang in there and carve out a narrow win. Seacrets led all the way and was striding well in the straight, but had to counter the pack in chase. Seacrets was banking on a narrow lead in the final furlong, with Way Ahead and Tough Enough closing in threateningly on him. The ones in chase were getting faster and closer, but Amit held his nerve to guide Seacrets home in a close three-way finish.

Forever Yours (Arazaan – Forever Young, Poonawalla Stud) won the concluding event of the day with a neat start to finish effort under the able handling of jockey CS Jodha. The Subhag Singh ward showed good initial speed to lead them into the straight and galloped resolutely to stay ahead all the way. Both Highland Princess and King of Killen looked beat in the final furlong. Highland Princess though was pressed hard to challenge the leader, but even Sandesh’s hard riding was in vain as Forever Young kicked on with a sustained gallop to ward off the challenger.

For the professionals, trainer SK Sunderji saddled a double, while jockey P Trevor rode out three winners and apprentice SA Amit chipped in with a double.
