Trainer M BOBBY LEADING FLYING SHOW (P SAI KUMAR UP) WINNER OF THE STEWARDS TROPHY

M.Bobby trained Flying Show (Varenar-Queen Victoria / Equus Stud) that had won its last start here three weeks ago in the lower class scored an encore in taking style in the Stewards Trophy. Constantine that enjoyed the favouritism set off on a start to finish bid over the sprint distance and brought the small field into view on the straight. Flying Show racing close behind was set alight inside the last 300 metres and the 5 years old mare produced a big run to head past Constantine who came under pressure. Flying Show cut a fast timing which was under a minute of the course record for the trip. Sea Lagoon and Script Writer filled the frame in that order.

Michael Eshwer trained Be Ready (Holy Roman Emperor-Meydana / Manjri Stud) that started its career late as a four year old completed a hat-trick in the Kapila Plate. Skyjet set the ball rolling and Be Ready settled nicely to chase the leader. Approaching the final furlong jockey P.P. Dhebe started to work on Be Ready and the gelding responded readily to grab the lead and carry it to the winning post. Albatross came from way behind to finish second while Amorate was also finishing on to beat Skyjet for the third place.

Twice third from as many starts in winter, Ranjeet Shinde schooled The Imposter (Varenar-Dungeon Princess / Equus Stud) opened its account in the Alberetto Plate. A lot of money flowed the youngster’s way to be sent off as the on-money favourite among the nine runners for the sprint race. Silvery Grey set off to lead the field followed by Amaris. The Imposter settled in third. Inside the last 200 metres The Imposter gained ground close to the rails and sped past the duo in front. Silvery Grey stayed on in second ahead of Amaris. Deodar finished fourth.

Ranjeet sent off a double in the very next race, the lower division of the Republican Plate through Micron Yaacow (Arabian Gulf-Lyrical Star / Manjri Stud). After finishing in the money over the last two runs, Micron Yaacow was rightly sent off as the favourite. Sazae San was the first to take the initiative on entering the home stretch and raced ahead. Micron Yaakow finding the path on the inside wide open shifted towards it and bridging the lead steadily surged past and scored a well deserved victory. La  Piperi finished third behind Sazae San while As Always ended up fourth. Show Me What U Got was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

C.D.Monnappa trained Green Meadow (Express Wish-Vijays Famme / Mebajeona Stud), a maiden from twelve starts finally made it in the division I of the Republican Plate. Placed at the bottom of the scales for the seven furlongs race Green Meadow set off on a start to finish bid. Inside the last 300 metres Flaming Spear tried hard to collar the leader but Green Meadow kicked on to win by three lengths. Conundrum that trailed the field till the top of the straight came up with a spirited gallop to occupy the second place, beating Flaming Spear into third. Touch Of Romance was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

The 7 years old Accuracy (Carnival Dancer-Aracruz / Dashmesh Stud) whose last win was almost 2 1/2 years ago produced a stunning upset in the Hiriyur Plate. Accuracy raced in eighth while Sancy, Ice Brown and Alecia were firm in the front. As Sancy tried to retain the lead and kick on, Accuracy found a gap between horses and the chestnut gelding sprang through that and sped past to register an upset win. Sancy stayed on in second while Beautiful Effect made it to the money ahead of Alecia. King Smile was withdrawn after being troublesome near the gates.

Star Style (Steinbeck-Transformation / Usha Stud) gave reasons for trainer J.Saravanan to smile when she bounced back to winning ways in the division I of the Renowned Plate. The filly settled in fifth while Diva, Saturn, Triple Crown and Brave Admiral raced in a close bunch ahead in that order. Entering the straight the favourite Saturn shot to the lead and opened a gap of over three lengths. Jockey Sai Kiran began to use the stick freely on Star Style and the filly started to raise a gallop and bridge the leeway. Inside the last 100 metres it was clearly evident that Star Style would overhaul the favourite and the filly wrapped it up by a length. Brave Admiral and Triple Crown finished third and fourth respectively, in a close finish between them.

Trainer Monnappa and jockey Aqeed Waheed earned their double through Jolfa (Bushranger-Royal Superlative / Nanoli Stud) in the lower division. Jolfa who had shifted base from western India had continued with her ‘seconds’ in the only start last winter. Fancied strongly over the sprint trip, the filly did well to come out of the maiden ranks. Al Dhama took the charge right from the start followed closely by Poets Song. The fancied pair of Jolfa and Point raced close behind as they turned for home. Inside the last 300 metres Jolfa took the gap between the leaders and Point made a bid from the outside. The two of them matched strides for a brief while and Jolfa surged clear to pull it off. Golden Steps came in with a late run to beat Point for the second place. Premier Ace filled the frame.
