The 4 years old dark bay filly Fjord (Phoenix Tower- Alchmene / Manjri Stud) who is in rousing form dominated the proceedings in the R.W.I.T.C.Ltd., Trophy that featuredWednesday’s card at Mysore. Fjord shot ahead to hit the front as the gates opened for the six furlongs sprint. Maintaining a good lead of over three lengths till turning for home she started to break away from the rest on the straight and was clear by almost a distance. In a close finish for the minor places Brown Beauty took the second place ahead of Just By Chance and Ayra’s Delight.

S.Rakesh trained Castle King (Hymn-Castle Beauty / Jai Govind Stud) struck form in the fag end of its career to lift the Kinski Plate. Markus Sittikus who was looking to score a second straight win was installed as the favourite and the chestnut gelding set off on a start to finish bid over the seven furlongs trip. Castle King racing in about fifth started to gradually move up in position to be behind the leader on top of the straight. Approaching the last furlong Markus Sittikus looked to be in distress despite the best efforts of the rider to keep going and Castle King sped past to score well under Irvan Singh. Markus Sittikus held on in second from Veni Vedi Vici. Oceanic Storm finished fourth.

The field in the division I of the Harangi Dam Plate was reduced to eight with fancied runner Dr.Scully withdrawn from the race after being very troublesome in the gates. Michael Eshwer trained Tobin (Curule-Kool Kruiser / Regency Stud) went on a start to finish bid and won the scurry easily. Tobin showed early speed to hit the front and was clear by over two lengths as they showed up on the straight. The 5 years kicked on and increased the lead inside the last 200 metres. Majestic Queen chased the winner throughout the straight and held on to the second place from Diamond Attraction. Jersey Bride filled the frame.

In a pulsating finish M.Bobby trained Run To Win (Admiralofthefleet-Royal Deeds / Kunigal Stud) snatched the verdict in its favour from Chase The Ace on the last stride in the lower division. Chase The Ace headed the field from the start with Run To Win in chase. Inside the last 200 metres Chase The Ace was looked to be travelling the better even as Run To Win worked hard but thanks to the inept assistance from the saddle, Run To Win managed to edge out the ‘Ace’. For the record Queen and Dhanyavaad finished third and fourth respectively.    

Jockey Amyn Merchant was on top again, riding Srinivas Babu trained Lucky Emerald (Arabian Gulf-Lyrical Star / Manjri Stud) to score an encore in the Talakaveri Plate. The favourite Waterfall went on a start to finish bid over the mile trip and brought the pack into view on the straight. Once on the straight Waterfall looked clearly out of steam and One Of A Kind took charge quickly. Lucky Emerald racing in about fourth till the bend made a bid from around the front runners and with a strong gallop passed them all and hit the winning post first. In a cluster for the minor places One Of A Kind edged out Clouds. Rustic Sunrise that trailed the field all the way came with a long stretched run to fill the frame in the same cluster.

Golden Cruise (Eljohar-Classic Cruise / Mukteshwar Stud) has won last exactly a year ago. The 6 years old had advertised its return to form while finishing in the money four weeks ago and jockey Amyn Merchant took the bay mare on a start to finish mission in the division I of the Nadir Plate. Golden Cruise was the smartest out of the gates from the draw closest to the inner rails and was quick to open a lead of over three lengths over the nearest challenger. Inside the last furlong Amyn and Golden Cruise were still clear and the well backed Star Binder after a futile chase lost the runner-up berth to Go Man Go in a photo finish. Brown Fairy ended up fourth.  

The day started with C.Girinath trained Bold Nature (Epicentre-Streaking Senorita / AB Stud) pulling it off in the lower division of the Nadir Plate. The 8 years old that had seen the winning post almost 2 ½ years ago took a good start and started to track the leader Vroom Vroom right from the beginning. On entering the straight Bold Nature surged ahead quickly and grabbed the lead. The favourite Precious Script looked for a clear passage between horses and not finding one was pulled out to make a bid but came under pressure even as Bold Nature licked on. Aretes and Ultimate Glory filled the frame in that order.
